Dial 150... answer a few questions about your account... ask for a free wireless router and USB dongle and wait a few days for receipt.
I just read about this over at MSE and gave TW a call.
My free router should be despatched within 3 days

So I take it you have to speak to a customer advisor it's not like a "choose option 3 on your kepad" type of thing?

On digital spy one of the Telewest staff members was saying you had to sign up for a 12 month contact to get the router.

yeah, I spoke to an opperator, asked about a free wireless router, she asked me a few security q's to access my account and said they would send me one FOC.
No mention of any new contract, but i've been with TW for 5+ years now and dont plan on changing supplier.
Their service to date has been flawless.

I never received mine
I called TW up last night to tell them I'm still waiting and they said that the routers were faulty and were recalling all the ones they had sent out.
They appologised and credited my account with £20 for the inconvenience.
When they asked if i was happy with that I responded with 'not really, Other providers such as sky are offering a better deal than you guys... I might change provider'
The nice lady then said, 'ok, while you consider your options I will discount your tv package by £3.50 per month, your t'internet by £8.50 per month and your phone by £1 per month for the next 12 months with no new contract to enter.
I said...'thangyewverymuch'
the netgear router they were offering, i can purchase for £40 with a usb dongle

Next time we need to negotiate our mobile phone/sky-tv/other-subs, can I rely on your skillz?
