Synergy Project ripped off in tickets scam

From another board

I know from experience that Access All Areas phone at the close of business to tell you how many advance tickets they've sold. So one would have thought that SOMEBODY would have noticed an extra 400 tickets sneaking through the door...

PLUS the Synergy tickets do bear holograms and watermarks on them and the 'forgeries' were of an exceptionally high standard.

An inside job? An interesting theory.

I for one didn't get approached by a single tout as I left the building (dressed like a total tit) and went to buy some cigarettes at 23;00, using the route that was supposed to be 'lined with touts'. Maybe I'm blind, maybe I'm stupid. Or maybe they weren't there at that critical moment...

But I do know that this is a bit of a blow for Synergy. After all, it's the parties that are paying the 4k rent on the centre each month... And it's cost at least 2k so far to do the neccessary renovations... And there are no more Synergies to pay the rent or the refurbs til February... So they'd have been in a bit of a 'pickle' anyway... Do the maths and think freely...

I for one will NOT be donating any of my money to this plea to 'save us, save us', despite my long association with them...

Glad I'm gone, really...

4 grand a month in rent is a LOT for a non-profit organisation to commit themselves to, really.

If they are totally depending on the income from the club night to fund it, it would only take one slow night (or ticket scam) to really blow a f***ing big hole in the cash-flow.

What's the community place like? Is it big?

Giles..

unfortunately having charitable status has not made Mr Peake more transparent as he is both director of the company director of the charity and a trustee and the only charity signatory on the accounts. shady does not cut it.
