SWP Councillor joins Tories!

Not cleaning your floor then, Louis? :D

Not accusing someone of inventing a family and the weather Nino?

As it happens I'm about to clean the boy's football boots as he has been picked to play for his school's year 6 football team this pm (he's in year 5 and is very proud to have been chosen...last time he played for them he scored 5 of their 12 goals!).

Cheers - Louis MacNeice

It's a cracking opportunity to illustrate their systematic opportunism :D

Quite how anyone is can remain in that joke of an outfit (or defend it) without embarrassment is really beyond me, now. What is there left to salvage or change - and how could sensible members bring it about?

Seriously - the game's up. The show's over. The ship is holed below the waterline and all it's watertight compartments are punctured.

As if this thread wasn't bizarre enough :D

Anyone else got any fun and interesting little anicdotes that they wanna throw into the thread?

You read my post in the way that you wanted to read it. If you recall, I used the words "virtual snow" (which referred to the patent lack of snow - as forecast by the redoubtable BBC) as well as "virtual family". For someone who claims to be so educated, you aren't half dense. :D

I'm about to tidy up my bedroom btw...then I may clean the bathroom. These are real places, not imagined ones. :p

Just to keep you entertained I'm now off to Withdean Stadium (the home of the mighty Brighton and Hove Albion) to run 7 800 metre repetitions with 400 metre recoveries...this marathon training is hard work.

Cheers CR and take care - Louis MacNeice

For those of you not able to keep up with the pace of events in Brighton, you might like to know that the 2.15am denial by John Rees has been shown to be total hogwash.

Hussain met with the Tories this morning and confirmed he was joining them. This afternoon the Tories are being officially declared the opposition on Tower Hamlets Council.

The question is where this now leaves Rees and Rahman. If they had simply cut off Hussain and said he was a bad egg, then that would have been one thing.

But no, they (or rather Rees claiming to quote Rahman) issued a statement staying it was all untrue and that Hussein remained committed to the values of 'Respect' (and presumably the SWP). So it was considered more important to try to keep him on board than accept that they had made a mistake.

The whole fiasco that the split was a left/right one is now exposed for all to see, and the SWP have become the laughing stock of the left.

Interestingly it has also been confirmed by the tories that they have been discussing with Hussain for several weeks.

Very few people outside of the SWP ever bought that line anyway.

Would be very interesting to know what this Trot/Tory was offered by Rahman/Rees not to de-camp........

Meanwhile our georgie can be found making a buffoon of himself (as ever) here - http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/commen...ion-is-a-turn-off-for-viewers-86908-20308810/

He seems pretty ignorant to the fact that TV Polonia is available worldwide, so Polish speakers in Scotland are already catered for. Never let a little thing like the truth getin the way of a verbose rant though eh? What was that about the english language georgie - be using that one during the next election then will ya?

Stated in the manner of a man who has a source which confirms his claims. A quick follow of the link, however, reveals the non-sequitur. In fact the detail that you point to looks ever-so-much like a bidding war.

While I agree that it is a silly article, I can't fail to notice that you have completely distorted his point in a most transparent way. TV Polonia does not, I think you'll agree, receive a £50 subsidy per Polish person resident in Scotland.
