Well there is one poster on here who constantly complains that they don't get involved in issues such as welfare reform, for example.
But you know the same poster would probably complain if they did

People would complain if the SWP didn't turn up, as it would prove they 'don't care about the environment' or something along those lines. And people would complain if they do turn up, because they are trying to hijack the movement.
They can't win, bless 'em.
To be honest, the SWP rarely seem to care about an issue for its own sake, whether they show up or not. Building the party takes precedence over everything.People would complain if the SWP didn't turn up, as it would prove they 'don't care about the environment' or something along those lines. What's wrong with that? And what's it got to do with the enviroment?
It's getting better all the time!marvelous stuff! keep it coming![]()

Fantastic!...They must be flushed out, exposed and removed. Basically if you want your group to be democratic then the SWP must be excluded from anything that you do.
Look at it this way, would you tolerate a takeover of your group by a far right group? You wouldn't and the same disgust and 'being intolerant to intolerance' that would be aimed at the far right needs to be aimed at the SWP as well.

so the world financial markets are going belly up, US politicians have rapidly speeded up the process for their own either populist or ideological reasons (i suspect populist in the main) and the anarchos and swappies spend their time trading petty and slightly paranoid insults regarding interventions at varous piddling events. Good to know you all have your priorities sorted![]()

Catastrophist!
- Actually, even I was surprised at that vote yesterday - it puts meat on the bones of the idea that the ruling class start revolutions by their actions. Genuinely funny to see Bush's face after the vote against the bailout - I almost (almost...) felt sorry for him

The desperate "vote for me I'm for the little man" populism will come back and bite their arses. Much like it will the tories on this side of the pond
whats that old chinese insult again - "may you live in interesting times"
'Dave' Cameron was saying exactly that this morning on the BBC news, telling the interviewer that people know that he understands the strains on the shopping budget. That like them he too feels the strain.......
And the award for ironic interview if the year goes to..............

There was one article over the weekend, but i didn't see anything else. Where the hell are the labour strategists? Oh yeah, they don't want to start that game lest they pull the rug from under their own feet as well.I'm surprised the press and New labour haven't made more of a fuss about the level of finance capital - and short-selling hedge funders in particular - direct financial support of the all 'new' Cameron tory party.
I suppose they all have a lot to hide, glass houses and all that
come on all you feckers - where's all your triumphal capitalist codswallop now? convince me... more importantly convince everybody else...![]()
MPs are on roughly £60,000 a year, not including other income. How the hell does he feel the pinch like the rest of us?

every anti-system person - anarcho, swappie, socialist, catastrophist - whatever should be laughing their socks off at what is happening at the moment.
there was no alternative to their garden in any case
What, at the high price of fuel, food and other goods needed to get by? Or the current state of the financial sector?
In the 19th century during the crises, a growing socialist movement could take advantage of the situation. In the 1930s, people pointed to the Soviet Union as an 'alternative' which was unaffected by the depression. In 2008...is there an alternative? Are people even looking for one? Is anyone providing one?
Did i say laughing at the price of food etc? Laughing back at the arrogant ejets that led the rest of us into this situation isn't a moral crime as far as I know
mk, its gonna happen weather you like it or not, weather you think you can do anything about it or not, weather you think its all hopeless or not - and recognising their limitations is a step towards answering your next inevitable question...
It's a bit like (to use a fav P&P/ICC metaphor) some mad bloke running down the street stabbing and slashing people, then turning around and demanding of everyone else why aren't they helping his victims - don't they care?!
