Sweet Dreams Are Made Of Cheese

I suppose one thing which could support the myth would be that it could give you various degrees of indigestion to eat loads of cheese (or to eat anything at all) just before bedtime- It could possibly disrupt your sleeping patterns, as the physical discomfort/struggling digestion system would seep into your unconscious and affect the theme or mood of a dream...

Example: I once had a terrible nightmare and on waking found out that my bladder was bursting and I had to rush out to pee... My mind had picked up the state my body was in, and made the mood of the dream change accordingly.

I only get nightmares when something is bothering me IRL...

But anyway, I've known for years that the eating cheese and nightmares story is a load of old cheddar! :D
But it DOES give you strange dreams - a writer friend of mine deliberately eats cheese before bedtime when he's writing as his dreams give him ideas

Yeah do cos I wanna know just how common it is. Also, ask people if they know what might have triggered it cos that's interesting too (TV, stress, food whatever)
Too late, I'm rubbish at polls:(
