Sweden v Greece

This has been absolute rubbish since kick off.

Why is there any stoppage time at all? If anything, the whistle should've been blown around the 86th min to put us all out of this abject misery.

Sweden = good defence, but they won't stand a chance against Spain, or Russia. Both were just to hot and incisive.

Greece = Wooden spoon. They won't even score a penalty.

This will go down in history as the game Greece lost, before decimating Russia, Spain and all the other teams they face with their skillful brand of attacking football to win Euro2008, 2012, 2016, 2020...

Samaras couldn't get a game for Citeh, with Pearce in charge.

Says lots. And lots.

:D

And yet Celtic still thought it'd be a good idea to get rid of Zurawski and bring him in. Could have cried when he lost his balance going for that header.

Samaras did score a couple of beauties for City. He's definitely a much better player than Psycho is a manager.

Greece definetly got what they deserved for their unambitious and very negative approach. The Greek defence passing the ball across their line, then hitting it long and out of play was a total and utter piss take in the first half.

I felt a bit of sympathy for Angelos Charisteas who ran his heart out for a futile cause because of hit team mates inability to create and construct and opening in the midfield. He was the only one showing a positive approach.

The defending champions will have to change their approach big time when they play the Russian's who even though they lost heavily to the free flowing Spainish. This result has certainly given Russia an great incentive to beat Greece and end their reign as European Champions.

Sweden certainly deserved the win on their second half showing, but they need to cut out the long ball passing to Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Also I get the feeling that the Swede's will get sussed out by a much more adventurous team than the Greeks.

Henrik Larsson coming back into the international scene showed some good touches in the game. The best moments was a top quality goal from and the comical & scrappy second goal thanks to silly defending from Greece to allow Hansson to score the match winning goal. Mellberg was solid & immense for the Swedes, as he organised their defence.

Overall the match was scrappy and disjointed, just slightly better than the France vs Romania match.
