Oh, I don't doubt his England record I'm just doubtful he'll go back to Lazio, thats all

editor said:I wonder if the tabloids realise they have probably cost England their best shot at the World Cup for decades? And what new manager would want to get the same kind of grief dished out to Sven?!
fela fan said:The tabloids don't give a fuck. In my time they have now effectively got rid of taylor, venables, keegan (having had him installed to the job), and now sven. I'd say they had a hand in robson too, and i can't remember about greenwood.
Thing is people will take the job. What they dished out to taylor was far worse than sven, and people still take the job.
I'd like really though to add my voice to those who complained about the press. For me it is they who ruin our chances every time. They do nothing but hound every single fucking manager, every single one of them. They never stop, they just fuck things up every time. Here we are with an outstanding chance and we now have to put up with this piece of news.
I'm no longer placing my bet on england to win the cup. They did this to venables before a world cup too and that fucked us then.
Do they not have some kind of traitor laws that these journos and editors can be had up for and bunged into jail...?

Bit puzzled about your Venables/World Cup statement. Maybe my memory is failing me?
Well that's our chances in the world cup up the spout....fucking gutter press.Rocket Romano said:BREAKING NEWS on Sky Sports News

Best in the world at what he does.Magneze said:Fucking News of the World. This is a disgrace. Come the World Cup they'll be crowing about how they're behind "our boys" or some bollocks, yet they've totally undermined the manager months before it.

aylee said:You're right about it being a disgrace, but the tabloids won't be behind "our boys" despite their protestations to the contrary. They will spend the World Cup in their usual way; printing half-truths and untruths about the private lives of the England squad on the front pages and then griping about the squad's resulting refusal to speak to them on the back pages, without realising the irony.
I suggest the passing of new legislation to require every tabloid news and sport journalist to be imprisoned from now until the conclusion of the World Cup in order to prevent their actions.
STFC Loyal said:I definitely think the England players should make a stand and refuse to speak to the NOTW/Sun until after the World Cup. The readership will desert them in droves.
