Cup action tonight. Our opponents are one division below us in the Isthmian South Central, and they play their home games at Carshalton Athletic FC. Hopefully our team can record the first victory of the Brad Quinton era.

Winners are away to Charlton Athletic in the quarter-final, then the winners of that are away to Hanwell Town, Woodford Town or Tooting in the semi-final.

The greatest cup competition in the world, it's time to shine!

What kind of side would Charlton put out? U23’s?

I believe it's U21, but they clearly take the competition seriously as they've won it for the last two seasons, and have won 6-1 at Fisher and 9-2 at Wingate & Finchley so far this season. It will clearly be a group that plays together every week, not just a scratch side of spare parts.

I had a look for previous home fixtures and they played a quarter final against Barking at Dartford last season, so that looks like the most probable venue.

I doubt it. I suspect they either use a local non-league ground, or have dispensation from the London FA to play all competition fixtures away, which I think Brentford did. Maybe darryl might know?

I don't know, to tell you the truth. I'm too busy trying to knit a half-and-half scarf. They have been using Dartford as a U21s home ground this season, though, including for a Premier League Cup against Stockport tomorrow.

Of course, Charlton won the final at Champion Hill against Hendon last season: U21s win back-to-back London Senior Cups | Charlton Athletic Football Club

Wherever it is, I just hope it'll be on a night I can make, as I couldn't go tonight.

Decent performance against a team that was up for it and wasn't shy in getting stuck in.
Fortunately we didn't get drawn into that too much.
3 well taken goals, could and probably should have been more.

Erm, I think it was us getting stuck in more. I felt Danny was a bit naughty, as he could have done more to pull out of a challenge on GK when he claimed the ball. He had to go off concussed. Clearly a caution, but could have been interpreted as worse imo. And I'm not sure who it was, but appeared like there was a stamp towards end that was only cautioned too. Perhaps we need to get nasty to stay up?!

Anyway, first win I've seen in 11 months! And in the greatest cup competition on earth. I so want to win this...

The London FA website has Charlton entered as Charlton Athletic U23 and they have played their home matches at Dartford for the past season or so.

However, I understand that there is a possibility that the next round may be switched to Champion Hill.

Their goalie took a hell of a knock.

See you in the quarter-final. I assume it will be moved to Champion Hill?
This was a comment from a Charlton fan on another forum before last season's quarter final:

It was eventually played at Dartford. Barking generally get less than 100 for league games, whereas we could reasonably expect 500+ if we host this game. I don't know whether that will be a factor either way, or what sort of attendance Charlton normally get when this team plays at Dartford.
