BBC business editor Robert Peston said the "big pillars" of management demands were in place, including pension fund reform, a pay rise this year of around 2.5% and the reform of working practices.
Sadly this has got all the hallmarks of a sell out by the union tops. If this is true it will mean a two tier workforce on pensions and a divided work place through local negotiations
Sky News (hardly the most reliable source) claim "The deal struck by the Communication Workers Union and the Royal Mail will be discussed by the union's executive on Monday. It is understood to include a 6.7% pay rise over two years for postal workers and an agreement over flexible working."
Has nothing to do with piece rates; they've negotiated a set of terms and conditions which the management want to amend. To me they look like a set of terms and conditions which many working people would welcome in their own workplace; as I'm in favour of leveling up rather than down I hope the CWU wins.
