Support the House of Bottles - meeting?

To turn the question around: why would you be in favour of it closing?

There's a whole other, clearly labelled, thread about the whole HoB saga on this forum.

Dear MrsDarlingKiss

Aside from the fact that a man risks loosing his business, people risk loosing their jobs and the community risks loosing another independent shop.

This is why

Come to the meeting Monday 8pm in the Albert to find out more.

I'm not in favour of closing it. Turning a question around doesn't answer it, and presumes a person's opinions. Are people not allowed to ask questions??

I wanted to know why the people are against it's closure because to me it's just another shop like any other offy around here.

Foucault's Wife, Thank you for answering my question. It's really unfair to close the shop down when the owner has nothing to do with the drug dealing outside.

Is it possible the council wants the premises to be used for something other than offy so wants to get him out?

Small business like grocers and offies have been really suffering over the last few years esp with more and more supermarkets coming into the towns and high streets.

Good luck for the meeting :)

I dont understand why they are picking on the house of bottles, when they have been opposing the drug dealing... What do the police, local council etc get out of it? Everyone knows closing a shop is not going to stop drug dealing happening??

gosh that has completely passed me by.

i went on eastermonday and was surprised they were closed. that is a shame they had a good collection of drinks and the owner guy was very friendly. lots of druggies straight outside thouh always.
hope they can reopen soon.
