supergrass would probably mean we could book another act of a similar pedigree, whereas SFA would erm leave more time for the unsigned bands to shine:D

go on, spill the beans - I'm always interested in hearing how much bands charge for a show.

(You can PM me if you want to be discreet)

tis only a 5000 capacity little welsh festie that's doing super advance tickets for under £50 for 3 days... besides supergrass would probably mean we could book another act of a similar pedigree, whereas SFA would erm leave more time for the unsigned bands to shine:D

We may be at this one if it's the one I'm thinking of. West Wales, right?

Or is it the other one further North and East?

We're doing both. Maybe see ya there :)

Are SFA really more expensive than Supergrass? That surprises me.

But definitely SFA - they're fantastic live.

Supergrass are past it imo. I still associate them with 1995. Good band and I know they've done other things since but most people at a festival will just want to hear their early catchy stuff.

SFA are constantly evolving and bringing out stuff which remains impossible to pigeon-hole - unless you compare them to '...a bit like Flaming Lips'. The last album (Hey Venus) was one of their best for a few years imo. Looking forward to hearing the new one. As for the poster who has never heard a good song by SFA, I will happily buy you a copy of 'Songbook' (singles comilation) as a starting point.

I couldn't possibly comment...

sorry...

well other than to say that a bands fee can reflect whether they've got albums coming out that they're wanting to promote at the time, or are planning to spend most of the time in the studio recording and only do a very limited number of festivals that summer amongst other things.

Square Festival, Borth

should have some cheap tickets for urbanites I think if you're fancying it... or working blags.

it should be an entirely different and fuckloads better festival than last year seeing as they've let me plan out the site and do their licensing for them, and am now pulling in some favours on the artists front.

I'm very interested in going to this. Not far from where I grew up. Please book SFA ;)

When is it FS?

New one to me, have just Googled it and it looks really promising, nice area/site and so on. But it's Friday 24th to Sunday 26th July this year ... squillocks  , we're already committed and ticketed to WOMAD that weekend, shame ... bloody festival clashes!

Have a good un though :)
