One van almost fully packed and one to go. It feels good to get the festival kit out of winter storage. Off first thing Wednesday morning.

Looking like a very pleasant dry and sunny weekend ahead, albeit not all that hot I think, and the improving conditions start from Thursday onwards too :)

Brilliant re weather. I am off straight from work tomorrow, staying at friends' in the area, then making my way first thing Thursday. WoW I'll ring you tonight to make plans - can I pls borrow your pump? I hope I choose the blow up bed without the puncture! See you there! :D

I'm not there :( Maybe tomorrow when the driver recovers from having her teeth pulled out  As for lift for lanky, probably best if he finds an alternative because we might not be going anywhere.

Ive got coffee etc etc but have forgotten the thing to boil the water in! stove yes, thing no. excellent start

Yes emergency - I had one last week and C today. I'm going to make a necklace  I reckon we might make it up there tomorrow.

We generally just buy teas/coffees on festival sites ....

ETA : GE hope you both feel much better tomorrow, the promised sunshine may help :)

Ach William if you could bring one I can make the coffees.....that would be good....any chance you might bring me the spare seat as well pls? ;)

Well I am now ready to post back about this festival since yesterday was a complete write off. I had such a great time, I think it was the best festival I have been to yet. :D

The weather was stunning. I am burnt like fuck! I lived and died in this long hippie skirt and various strappy tops, slapping on the factor 15 all day but still we are dusty and sunburnt.

Our camping neighbours were excellent, this girl from Bristol and her partner who got off their tits quite royally, and he leant me his guitar. The thing about camping is that you might not be able to see people but you can definitely hear them, and I liked their banter and they didnt row or exchange sharp remarks at all, and I really liked that. We had other neighbours who weren't so good, young folk who kept going on about getting tits out and their fucking language as well!:D There were loads basically, people you pass on the way in and out from your tent in various states of undress and wankeredness throughout the weekend. I made friends with a red haired young fella who worked out, and I put suncream on his back, and arms cos he obviously couldnt reach them either. ;) I played guitar quite a lot at the campsite which was good for me to do and I got a couple of compliments as well.

There was dub going somewhere the whole weekend, interspersed with great little folkie players telling their stories. We saw this band whom I didnt initially like but who really turned me on in the end; drum and bass style drumming, very light; slightly offkey guitar playing and droning over the top, a la Radiohead, so we liked them. We also saw that famous folk singer woman who everybody loves singing songs about it being a fine fine world. I liked the lyrics from all the folk singers, very positive. I also bumped into the spell selling man with his hat on selling spells and although I didnt buy one, we did tell him we'd bought one in the Assembly Rooms in winter one year.

Of course not being a drinker or anything really, yet drinking steadily, I was wankered pretty much all throughout, with Saturday coming in the winner. I made lots of friends, largely by crashing into them and then staying. Myself William and Debs all made the most of the beer and cider varieties and I was very very pleased to note that the staff did not even mention the carrying thro of beer into the arena. I fell off many seats backwards, I made friends with an old Liverpudlian fella and we had a whos had the hardest life contest where we both eventually burst into tears and then wiped the tears off each others face, I think that was quite late on though. I stumbled across a curly haired man having a piss up the side of this van and I pulled my own pants down as well but then it was just so funny I couldnt go so we had this conversation about why he loved metal. It was the lights shining thro his hair whilst I heard him pissing I think that made me laugh! I took one magic mushroom as well and proceeded to talk codshite, I really did meet so many people stumbling about by myself.

All in all I had a wicked time and am not sure I can make Strawberry Fair this weekend now as I need to get over it all! And I did the worst packing up of the tent job ever!! :D

Yep, legendary festival, awesome time, will definitely be going back.

Nothing too specific to report really, other than i wish they'd been a bit better at sticking to the programme at times, and doing stuff when they said they would, spent too long hanging around for the stuff we did actually want to see.

Also, Wiliam of W, was looking out for you all weekend, but didn't see you, apart from possibly yesterday, if you left the site around 9 in the morning or so, being driven by Deb. If so, you drove straight past me.

Wish i were back there now, beautiful location, awesome weather and superb crowd. The security got it spot on as well i though, swift to deal with trouble but in the most discreet way possible. Props to them for that...

Once we got there all was good and smooth running. The weather helped, but I reckon the festival could have coped had it rained. It's good to have a relaxing and easy festival to start the summer

I think it was the best festival I have been to yet. :D

Absolutely lovely.

We arrived Thursday way after midnight and the camping was already mostly full. By the time we settled in to our tents it was sunrise. How appropriately named! Absolutely beautiful surroundings. Loved the ponies wandering around the carpark. And the views of Glastonbury Tor one way and rolling hills the other.

Big thanks to anyone that helped keep my niece amused, allowed her to paint their face, finger nails and shoes, or taught her new dance moves.

And huge props to the crew for keeping it fluffy.

Top acts for me were 3 Daft Monkies, Lazy Habits (ripping it up as ususal), Naula & The Alchemy Band (rootsy folk with bassy grooves), Paul Didge & Folkstomper (quality, quality, quality..!!), Tribe of Frog (all of yer's), Cornelius...... Loads of fine story tellers at the Hurly Burly & LadyBird Tent.. The Wicker Elephant..

Nothing but good and positive things to say about this festival. We are so definitely going back next year :D

Some of Eva's report is mine too .... but only some! ;) :p

Sorry I missed you Gerry :o , I'll PM you for your number though and we'll meet up again at Glasto for sure.

Good to see you GE albeit only very briefly, citydreams too ....
