Sunbound Unsound 2007

I will be there, shaking my funky stuff.

And possibly falling over a fair bit too.

There may be some dribbling as well.....

stopped over in Metaponto - this was around mid day yesterday -- looks like it's a goer:) :) - will be releasing the dates as soon as we got the dj's flights booked - we got Miss Pink, Crystal Distortion and Jerome Hill on the crew this time as well as the usual reprobates - we've decided to do a ten day do again - ie 2 weekends -- Bigga, Dub get yerselves ready - can't fuckin' wait me :D

Toss up between Brindisi and Bari, although there's a lot to be said for getting the train from Rome down to the site. Lovely route

And yes.

 :D

Definitely going to book flights early this time so it won't cost me a fortune at the last minute like it did last year  :o

Might do either the Bari or Brindisi routes this time, the train journeys to and from Rome were looooong!

hmmm how longs long? more than newcastle - london?

any clues on dates would be good as summer seems to be filling up what with glasto glade 7/7 already on the itinery along with knochengoragh... shit that's a lot already:eek:

Can't remember how long really, but it felt like an age going down there, but not too long going back up. I'd take a guess at least 5 hours, but i'm sure i remember it being longer than that when looking at the train times.

Last years was from the last couple of days of may through til just after the first week of june or so if i remember right, have a search for last years sunbound thread if you want to check. Plenty of space between it and all the other summer festivals.

Ah but it's a lovely train ride - beutiful scenery and italian trains are quick and comfortable. Plus you can spend a bit of time in Rome if you've not been there before it's worth it.

If memory serves me right it was 5/6 hours on the way down and 6/7 on the way back due to the train going round the bloody houses before it got to Rome, but then again when else are you gonna to see Mt Vesuvius from a train window?

Also I'd highly recommend flying to Bari and spending a night there on the way back or out - it's a beautiful city with a lovely medieval quarter. Hiring a car from the airport for a week was pretty cheap too. There's tons of interesting stuff in that area (eg. Matera) and having a car was well handy for getting booze/food etc. :)

Edited to add - you can get car hire cheaper from Hertz if you have a Ryanair ticket...

We found it the opposite i think, i'm sure it was noticeably quicker going back to Rome going round the vesuvius way, although we did have to change trains so maybe that cut down the journey time somehow.

..

Dunno, but i'm sure it was quicker going back up, which was even more surprising since we were on the eurostar on the way down and little local trains back up.

And i don't think i fell asleep... :o :D
