No-one will need three guesses to work out which silly old bastard was kicking around in Italy with nothing much to do. Still, at least you all had a lucky escape.
Nothing really, just I was in Sicilly tossing a coin whether to pop up to Rome on the train, or go back to sunny Stratford for a cider and a Wetherspoons full English, forgetting there was a sunbound unsound type thing.

I keeps coming back & checking the threads for new pics, only to remind myself of hum drum
Anyway, pending birthday celebrations, of which i'm sure will bring back all the memories - should enuff alcoholic beverages be consumed..

For some reason, my mind kept wandering back over the last few days to the morning of our departure and I feel I should be sharing this anecdote with you all.
Maestrocloud had ordered a cab to take her and henrytheoctopus and gergl and I to the station on thursday morning.
Of course the night was another messy one, but I managed to get about 3 hours sleep. I got up at 7am, woke up gergl to tell him we had half an hour until we had to go and went to have a shower. While in the bathroom, I could hear some stumbling etc noises and thought "Wow, has he actually gotten up already" (something I didn't expect). I got out of the shower and indeed found his bed empty - but also no sign of him in the chalet. So I went outside on to the porch and found him lying face down in the gravel, wrapped in his sheet, snoring. I went to wake him up and tell him we now had 15 minutes until our departure, went back inside to put on some clothes and finish packing (gergl hadn't packed yet -mind you he had only his record bag, a pair of tracksuit bottoms and some t-shirts with him anyway); came back outside to find him standing (in a swaying sort of way) on the porch smoking a cigarette. All his t-shirts were still strewn around or hung-up to dry. So I said, "You know we're leaving in 5 minutes, right?" - "Yeah, yeah, I'm ready" - "But don't you want to take your t-shirts?" -"Why would I want to do that?" -"Because we're leaving in 5 minutes, we have a cab waiting!" - What, you mean, we're leaving leaving? I thought we were going to the beach!" Bless him!!
