The bikes they had for hire were a tad 'dodgy'....(ie. deathtraps)!

i kinda hope so, it would certainly help my decision. last year was enjoyable but we walked about 10miles in each direction from the site and once you've done that once it loses interest a bit.

Glad to hear this happening again this year. I was thinking of flying to Rome and getting a train down and taking in a bit more of Italy this year, money and time permitting, we'll have to see what happens i guess. One thing is for sure though, I will be on the beach come june.

we've called it definately on because the 2 site owners where we were last year are both up for doing it again, although we will do things differently if we do it there -- we have looked at other places, and are going to look at another in a couple of weeks, although it is a difficult to find sites that have the facilities we need for the party - mainly loads of beach space and no one about to have problems with the noise,but are also in more developed areas - - anyway -like i said, we're going to look at another in a couple of weeks --

if we do end up in metaponto again though we'll arrange for a bus to come down every couple of days to go to different places -- -

It must be hard finding somewhere that has the accommodation and other facilities needed, yet is remote enough not to disturb people. Would be good to have a large town within walking distance, but then you'd probably have to worry about the volume.

i have done some of the trip by train, and it's definately a great way to get down -- there's a link here http://www.unsound-system.org/links.htm for the train all the way -- last year i t worked out at about £140 -- still quite abit more than the plane ---- why the fuck aren't railways subsidised like airline fuel is ??? -

as for the train etc - if we are back in metaponto , it seems pretty cheap to get a direct train from metaponto to naples - about 4 hours and £10
mid-week for a few days between the parties--if you fancy negotiating families of 4!! driving round on a little vespa in any direction in Napoli city centre - --- you got pompeii and vesuvius(sp) - not to mention the bay of naples and amalfi coast -it is fuckin beautiful-

car hire from hertz at the airport is about £120 a week , which between 4 is ok (we'll see if we can sort out some kind of special deal with them- y' never know)
