Flipflops can be worn when in the woods and dirty feet go hand in hand with summer. Get yourself some double pluggers and be done with it.
If I wasn't in an inner city area with relatively high rates of spitting in the street, TB, and hepatitis (HIV's far less of a risk once dried on surfaces), I'd happily go barefoot outdoors most of the summer (have done before), but not here.

Butchers is not normally a person who cares about what I wear, but I think even he would draw the line at being seen with me if I wore Crocs.
Not all Crocs are plastic clogs - they also do sandals etc like the pair which recently caught spanglechick's eye.

Used to have these

but they have been degraded to garden shoes pretty much as I wore them pretty much non stop for two years. They were the most comfortable shoes I had in years.
No idea what I'll get for summer. Depends on what I find in the sales as per usual
