Right, I'm about to order these crocs:

and I'm itching to buy a turquoise pair of those fly london sandals. Shall I go for it? I never wear heels but love the look of them.

I've got some of the fly sandals. Don't you remember? I'd try them on in a shop first though - they're not for everyone. I took my old pair to a charity shop last week as I found them really uncomfortable & kept getting blisters on the sides of my feet.

Oh.
I'm going to try some on today, fingers crossed they work for me because there are about eight styles on their website that I like.

I've never heard of anyone other than myself having bad experiences with them, if that helps. I do have weird feet!

Lidl are currently selling two strap Birkenstock style sandals for six quid. I've only worn them round the house so far, but seemed cheap enough for a gamble.

My feet also blister with most shoes (I recently bought a parit of fitflops and they blistered my feet on the first outing).
I did buy some of these (though the picture doesn't do them justice as tehy look really lovely in person)

Alas, my feet have blistered in five different places :(
I'm really pissed off with this now: that's two pairs of shoes and a lot of money wasted because I've got delicate feet WHY WON'T THEY TOUGHEN THE FUCK UP

I got a pair of these a couple of years ago and wear them loads- they don't blister my feet at all- and I'm a delicate little flower about my feet. Surprisingly robust and comfy- not for a hike, obv, but I have worn them all day in London and New York, the latter when the pavements were melting it was so hot, and I was walking all day, and they were really comfy. They have a padded sole, and the leather is buttery soft. Only issue is your feet do get pretty scuzzy....http://www1.bloomingdales.com/shop/product/sam-edelman-gigi-flats-sandals?ID=574799

I get tendonitis in both of my Achilles tendons, it's worse during the summer as I (stupidly, vainly) don't wear my orthotics as I like wearing sandals. Thin soled shoes really aggravate it unfortately. Fuck my feet basically.

Try swabbing your feet with surgical spirit on cotton wool ShiftyBagLady - my runner friend swears by it, toughens up your feet (they'll smell horrible, but hey :)). I can't wear really flat shoes, it kills my back - I'm still looking for a running-around pair for the summer.
Saw these crocs today - never worn them before, never quite liked the look of them, but I was quite taken with these - are they really
plastic-y and slippery to wear?

Knowing this, there are lots of things you can do - wear in the house first, with a thin pair of socks. Use Compeed Blister Stick on all friction points that this process highlights. Get some proper blister plasters etc.

I did wear them around the house for a good few hours and they felt fine. I will have a look at that blister stick to see what it is. I do have blister plasters but they are for use after you havea blister right? Wearing prophylactic plsters to prevent blisters would spoil the look of this particular pair of shoes. Besides, maybe it's just a sign that the shoes are no good for me, I don't want to spend that much time fighting my feet when the easiest solution is to just wear sensible shoes. I must just remember that when I start yearning after over shoes

You can get go ster socks you know, might be worth looking into, its basically two socks joined together,so they rub against each other instead of your foot

I find that new shoes often give me blisters after the first outing or two (apart from one pair of boots that were fine for a fortnight, then tore my heels to shreds one day  ). So I don't wear them until the blisters have healed, after which they're usually fine because the new skin is tougher. Is this not the case for you ShiftyBagLady?

At the grand old age of 51 i'm still asking myself the same question......even old shoes that i might not have worn for a while will take the skin off my feet..............i have had blistering after a 5 min walk to the corner shop.......it's very annoying !

Rooted out my Gabors.
These are the creamy off white pair and I've had them 3years. Love these so much that I bought them in red and tan too.
They're all still perfect and so comfy :)

Got me a pair of these brand new and perfect for just €10. Reduced from €80. Spanish people don't have feet in my size. Occasionally this is a good thing.

I'm pretty sure I start a thread like this every year so it's about time for this year's one. Maybe there have been some new innovations in the world of summer footwear.

Ladies, what do you wear on your feet during the summer?

I can't wear flip flops unless I'm at the beach because a) I live in a big city and my feet get filthy, and b) I like clambering through woods/on top of ruins/climbing walls

For the past few years Crocs have been my shoe of choice - not the clumpy typical ones, but ones similar to this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Crocs-Women..._cart_1_p?ie=UTF8&refRID=1DDREWN7R59MQBRYJ28E

They don't look amazing but are really comfortable, work on the beach or in the city.

I need to buy some new summer shoes and am wondering if anyone has any other suggestions that maybe look a bit nicer.
I've just been told that if I wear crocs it's a deal breaker!
