when you say your computer can't handle recording to any standard, are you really sure about that? I've recorded into my iBook just using it's crap built-in microphone. I've recorded to dictaphones before. Particularly if it's blues hollerin that you're doing, lo-fi can be a plus. why don't you just buy a cheap mic and see what happens?

I could give it a go, but the problems are that the soundcard is bottom of the range, and there's very little spare hard drive space.

Slap bass makes me want to die, sort of like the saxaphone does only in the face.
Its going to be filthy distorted noise with funk undertones. I downloaded a bunch of drum funk loops yesterday and spent a good couple of hours carving them up and rearranging. Should be cool.
I've actually been meaning to do this for ages. I have an idea for a band doing stuff like this. Instrumental, very lo-fi and short songs (like punk).
I wonder if it will work?

OK. I appear to have successfully mashed together Maggie McGill (The Doors) and Lady Marmalade (Labelle) and relocated the lot to Angell Town. Just need to record the blighter now.
