Fruitstock was pretty lame but went with some good mates and the sun shone

Last year did:
Peace march with mate with small children,
dash across town to
Great British Beer Fest with mate with small children and they ran out of been when we got there,
dash across town to
Fruitstock which was the messiest thing I have ever been to. And not in a drug sense, either

they have charged for a few years havent they (though some of those were "voluntary donation - coupled with a big frown and feel bad speech if you didnt" )

but £8 is steep. i was gonna go this year, but not now.
its why ive been jumping the fence like a cunt since i was 13.. its good but not worth the 8 quid as there is no decent music pretty much and the rest is stools... its fun just not worth the cash

8 quid for Kingston Fair marks it death knell. Nice location for a drink and a bit of a festi. 2-3 quid max.

Free access to the Green fair via the river!

Haven't been to it in years as it's been the same weekend as the UK tek.
all my mates came back on the monday for green fair and were all rolling around the kiddy field thinking they were still at the teknival :D

Usually plan that but next thing I know I'm still at the Tek on Monday night. Don't live that way any more so it's not really worth the trip IMO

Do you mean the big sexy festy party? That was great, but I must have missed the free love tent :(

I went to a benefit night for this years fest last November and spoke to one of the organisers who was hopeful it would be back. I seem to remember hearing about last year's one very close to the date though.

Was the late May bank holiday I think, have tried google-ing for it but nothing coming up yet. Hope they will do it again, it was a great afternoon :)

Just seen this ...

Will get going on this one a bit more, when I have more time. In a bit of a rush ...

In the 'What Festivals are you going to' thread, started by johhnymarrsbarrs in music, Skim definitely confirmed that Stokefest was on 10th June. She provided a link too. I'll look at the johnnyboyle site later, but if it still says September, perhaps that's just out of date recycling of last years info.

Lambeth Country Show -- a definite!!! But it's a bit crap that they never seem to have a website til the last minute. Rise -- overcrowded and fairly crap. LCS -- excellent!

When I have more time I want to confirm whether and when the 'Big Sexy Festie Party' (Finsbury Park) is happening.

<oprays for 16th June not 10th -- I'll be in Wales on the 10th>

But 16th is dangerously close to Glasto and that might be awkward for the organisers.

GOTTA DASH!

the worst thing was queuing up for drinks.... one bar for the whole festival... genius!

Doesn't look like the Cheeky Girls are playign yet the picture is there- disappointed mate!

They played last year. Was a bit special for all the local gentlemen of the street as the stage is about 6 inches high so the pissed up gentlemen got to dance with the cheeky ones. Can't find the pictures so you'll have to believe me on this one.

Supprised Hollis hasn't picked up on Iron Maiden, Elvis and Bachman Turner Overdrive :D at a freebee maybe I didn't make it clear about the quality of the acts?
