You get a lot of them in London, esp Brixton

Birkenstocks, 3/4 length linen trousers, lightweight smart shirt (untucked!)

Shirts tucked in are wrong unless it's a suit/for work.

right now im wearing a pair of scruffy "skinny" levis and a pearlsnap shirt tucked in, with a pretty big but not garish belt...and a pair of Loblan boots. looks good even if i say so myself.

im off out now

tbh, only certain types of shirt look ok untucked at all... but if they are tucked in it needs to be with well fitting trousers.

tucked in shirt / baggy trews = big no no

I think maybe it's the British climate that makes men unaccustomed to dressing for heat. In Europe, even the tramps look cool.
IMO the footwear/sock or no sock quandary results in the worst fashion 'faux-pas'....
I'd wear vests more if I could find a cool one that didn't make me look as if I'm on my way to the gym :)

my exact problem. If i can get a nice pair of sandals & a nice vest, i don't have to bother with short trousers as i'm already cool enough. but i'm fucked if i can find any of either.

i might see if i can find a stylish girls vest which doesn't look too girly... something with sequins perhaps?

I think girls vests are the way to go, don't even try to make it look masculine.
Frills, sequins, glitter & pictures of flowers are all good.
*has thought for Glastonbury shopping list*
