Suggested chants for the pro-Israeli war demo

The pro peace rally was brilliant today. Fantastic. No hate filled chanting, no swastikas, no alphabet soup of trot groups selling papers, no clerical fascists. no misguided lefties saying 'we are all hamas' etc etc.

Dignified, peaceful and powerful.

None of that yesterday either. Just a hell of a lot more people.

'pro-peace' - plenty of lying shits there then

........and much, much smaller the yesterdays demo. Obviously not the prevailing point of view by the majority of conscious people in the uk.

But many less (in fact none at all) violent loons as opposed to the pro Hamas marches. It will not be the size of the demo that will grab peoples attention but the dignity of it, people will contrast the behaviour of todays peace protestors and the motley crew of Islamofash and brain dead thugs who turn up for those demos.

Any placards about Dresden?

After my experience at the pro-Kadima rally on Wednesday, I can only assume this means that those "brain dead thugs" from Beitar stayed at home, or couldn't get near any helpless victims.

Just clever thugs cheerleading the aerial bombardment of refugees then? Oh, the dignity of it all!

Also, there haven't been any pro-Hamas marches.

You're dead right. People who are rightly angry at the death of 900-plus refugees will see the passivity and acquiescence of this lot and give them a wide berth as the apologists for racist warmongers that they are

They are ultra-right in what way?

Certainly they're fundamenatalist... in the sense of arguing that Zionism is contrary to the fundamentals of Judaism... and anti-worldly and anti-"Enlightenment"...
They view anti-semitism and the Holocaust as G-d's punishment for the Jews, to be endured uncomplainingly until the Messiah arrives. Anyone who disagrees with them is not a "real Jew". They talk about Israel/Palestine in terms of extreme theology; Human Rights get a bit of lip service, but it's not what they're about.

Can't speak for the individuals, but as a movement they're not much better than the Zionists, tbh.

There are plenty of Jewish voices which could be heard, but StWC just wheels out the extremist Rabbis every time.

Bullshit, while I am no fan of the StWC, to suggest that anybody who joins a demonstration they have called has been "wheel[ed] out" is dishonest.

For example, is Alexei Sayle an extremist Rabbi now?

they're never 'wheeled out' by the STWC either, as far as i know, they just turn up, and get interviewed by the media

NK are religious nutcases, to be sure.

But not per se any nuttier than, say, the Archbishop of Canterbury.

And, within the genre of religion, their theological position is at least coherent.

They view anti-semitism and the Holocaust as G-d's punishment for the Jews, to be endured uncomplainingly until the Messiah arrives.

As against the Zionist position that it must be avenged by, er, taking it out on the Palestinians...

Including, it seems, the Palestinian Jews. NK say that many of them are descended from Jewish families that had lived in Palestine for aeons - and were kicked out by the Zionists.

If true, that'd be a pretty convincing case against Zionism. Which just might explain the hostility to them.

if you were a Barnsley fan why would you be at a Wednesday v United match anyway?
Well if you're from Barnsley you'd probably have put a small fortune on them both loosing down the bookies!

Anyway, I took a few photos of the demo in Leeds that I might put up somewhere on here if I can be arsed at some point (well, it was the meeting point of the demo, I had more important places to be like Bramall Lane than sticking around and taking more pictures)
