Wow. My protest music was always based on noise. RevCo, Ministry, Lard, Rage etc, but by God, that might be the best song I've ever heard. Reminds me of the first time I heard Jurrasic 5 and I was like..... oh man, this is cool.
An absolute belter from Damien Dempsey.

Paris Brings Some Much-Needed Realism on 'Pistol Politics' - XXL
These guys are great
My god. Remember this guy from way way back. Really good stuff.
Remember The Goats from around that time? They were decent.
Can't believe I missed this thread for so long, there's some top stuff in it.
I'll add a band belonging to some friends of mine. Not for everyone as musically they're quite tame, but subversion is as subversion does, and just sounding like punk or hip hop is no guarantee.
This is great
Yes remember them. Ive been checking out Paris new stuff. Glad to see he is still putting stuff out there.
Old school conscious rap
...Mad Prof at the controls
My favourite Macka B tune...here done live back in the day on the Real McCoy (which folks over a certain age may remember)
...and of course Malcolm X.
"...there's a hidden brutality"
"...built your pentiaries, we built your schools.
Brainwash education to make us the fools..."
You're a number
you're a barcode
Got your details all on file
A commodity that we will quantify...
They counting you but you don't really count in all of this
Your life is just a consequence a sequence without conscience
Give up your liberty for freedom tell me how you gonna get it back
Sweat for the company far away
Fruit once sweet now has bitter taste...
(being on MTV take a bit of the subversive shine off I guess, lol, but still a good tune)
"...electoral eclipse of your moral sun..."
...you're a terrorist, giving birth to another terrorist
The fact is fundamentally that YOU'RE THE FUNDAMENTALIST
(unplugged inpromptu version)
