Alive, by German filmmaker Florian “Flo” Nick was shot over 5,500km travelled in six weeks exploring the vast landscapes of Alberta and British Columbia.

The video is made up of 54,000 individual images showing wild forests, lake shores, huge mountains and hollow trees.

It's blooming amazing! Check it out in fullscreen for max impact!

*My connection could only handle it in 2k format

    Beautiful stuff.

Kinda brings home how far the technology has come - you can now shoot 4K timelapse stuff on a smartphone... 25 years ago Ron Frike was shooting Baraka on giant 70mm cine cameras with huge motorised panning systems...

They could have widened their horizons a little? Isn't that all filmed largely in the same place? Not that I'd turn down those Northern Lights.

Alberta is where it's at. Unfortunately, it's now where it's at for a very few oil-rich elite who have forced any indigenous population out via the medium of economics.

    Beautiful place though.
