There are two pinnacles in ballroom dancing:

The Competitive Pinnacle.
The Social Pinnacle

(Hoping that I've spelt those words correctly!)

What you see on SCD is the competitive one. Most competitive dancers aim for the British Open that is held at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. This is where you get all the fake tans, outrageous outfits and the backbiting and arguements.

The social one (for me at least) is the Vienna ball season. Having been to balls in both Vienna and Zurich, I much prefer these because these are like fairytale balls - oh, and the Austrians and Swiss are very good dressers too.

Fairytale ball or being told by 'TV Craig' that you dance like a whale in a loincloth? Take your pick
