Do you watch Strictly Come Dancing?

LTC, It was made by the same producers of Xena and Hercules I think and it was AMAZING!

On in the late 90's about some kids and teens living in a city in (well, the country is never named, lol) and all the adults had been killed by a virus and it was all apocalyptic and shit and all the kids had grouped into 'tribes' where they dressed accordingly and had to make up their own set of rules and regulations amongst themselves and fight/battle their way to stop certain tribes from taking over the city/hogging the antedote that cured the virus.

I find Strictly Come Dancing pretty fucking dislikeable to be honest. The sneering poncejudges, the idea that people actually give two hoots about the dancing rather than laughing at lame celebrities in bad sequin-maxed outfits, the pretence that it's somehow an upmarket reality tv show suitable for middle class families across the country. It's shite.

There's more integrity watching Vanessa Feltz shoehorned into lycra getting pushed into a swimming pool by a polystyrene wall.

It's a kid's programme then? When was it on?
I used to like Heartbreak High when I was a student, but I have no business watching that sort of thing at my age.

depends whos definition of a continent you go by . Some people say that a continent is a large mass of land which means there are only 4 continents - Afroeurasia , americas , australia and antartica . Others define a continent as something different which is why you get europe , asia , africa , north/south america and australaisa .

Yeah, I was asking when it was on, ie was it just a kid's thing or one of those things scheduled so stoned students would enjoy it

In the late 90's, it was so scheduled for stoned students: on Saturdays at about 11am on channel 5.

I must have led a different student life to others then - Saturday morning telly didn't exist and still doesn't - I'm either still partying or sleeping!

I think it started when I was about 16/17 and it spilled over to when I went to uni so the habit stuck. :o

When I lived in London, I had a LoveFilm subscription and decided to rent a couple of the series out expecting me to think 'oh my, cant believe I watched this shit' but no it was a pleasant surprise and I congratulated myself on my choice.

i watch strictly cos i have a 5 year old daughter. she loves everything about it - the dancing, the costumes, adding up the scores :) we have an 18 mo too and the pair of them do song and dance routines, they're  we don't watch xfactor etc cos i don't like the kind of music they sing (probably) but the dancing is something we can all watch together and enjoy (i wouldn't watch it on my own, but it beats cbeebies).

i watch and enjoy strictly, for the same reason i watch and enjoy dance movies of all kinds: because i love watching people dance :)

i adore it.

i like the dancing and the costumes, but i like seeing people dealing with learning to do something really bloody hard. the pro dancers and the judges become more important than the contestants - as many of them have been in it for 6 years now. In a way, i kind of like the 'backstage' show on BBC2 weekdays more than the show itself. the rehearsal footage and interviews... watching the new dances take shape or not over the week...

but i can completely see why other people hate it. it's essentially a very frivolous pursuit with a very limited scope of creativity.

the reason it generates so much revenue is the number of other countries which have their own show - all of which pay massive royalties to the beeb.

I don't watch it but discovered a few of my more normal friends do - and they're not into dancing (which is the only reasonable excuse I can think of). I tried to get an explanation from them but they couldn't really explain it
