The only year that was a total washout due to weather was 1999 (year 2) - and even then Bob and I had to get something in the air:

Here's a photo from the same angle taken today. Turf not looking good.

The damage to Clapham Common from Winterville is still nowhere near being repaired. This was taken five days ago, so this is after three months.

With any luck it will be finished just in time for the next big event to ruin it all over again.

Anyone going next Sunday? I'll be there for most of the day, although I won't be doing demos in the arena this year, just taking photos.

Here's the weather forecast - very light winds in the morning, but picking up a bit during the afternoon. Sunshine all day.

I've just added a 'what's on' to the the Streatham Kite Day website. Weather forecast is still looking OK, even if the wind is a little bit on the light side and not from the best direction for the common.

For most of the day the winds were very light, but there was enough to keep a few kites in the air for most of the time. And when there wasn't any wind, local band The Rapture Riders kept everyone entertained.

Here's a few photos from the day.

Sure - are you OK grabbing them from Flickr or do you want me to send you copies?

Did you manage to get there? I looked out for you, but didn't see you.
