Streatham Common Kite Day

Me and some mates will be coming up from Canterbury

Will give making our own kite a go, but might wimp out and buy a couple of back ups just to be on the safe side ;)

ooh i quite fancy this, have been meaning to go for years and something always comes up. madge loves kites!

Looks  I went to one in March (the place not the month) a couple of times a few years back, stupid Fenland district Council stopped running it for some reason so i don't think it's on any more :(

oh no, its on marathon day so cant make it :( have family and friends i will be cheering on instead.

Ace- I'll be there with some friends.
Just a minute's walk from my house so perfect. Last year was really fun, loads of happy kids everywhere.
My brother brought me back one of those 20-little-kites-stuck-together from China so I'm going to play with that.

I went last year. It was fun!

Don't all the kites just end up all tangled up with each other in one giant knot?
Usually just lots of smaller ones

The forecast for tomorrow is good for the morning, but an increasing risk of showers in the afternoon. Wind about 9mph WSW - that's about as good as it gets for SC.

For anyone driving, it's usually easy to park on Streatham Common South if you get there early or on the side streets off of it if you're a bit later. If you do park on the side of the common DON'T put your wheels on the grass or you'll get clamped or towed.

We're looking forward to seeing you all there.

In the brief sunny period between the downpours it was a great event.

Skillful kite flying and fresh hog roast off the spit - what more can you ask for.

I managed to bash myself in the face with a kite :confused:
we all had a great time, the rain wasnt so bad but it did make my hair go crazy
