Strasbourg thread

wtf was burning an ibis hotel down all about. lunatics.

Ibis are part of Accor Group, who recently increased their stake in Groupe Lucien Barrière, the casino group. The arson was a protest at the group's investment in an industry that thrives on misery, especially when people are facing such hardship already.

No, seriously, I have no idea.

video clip of french riot police (CRS) throwing stones at demonstrators
http://tempsreel.nouvelobs.com/actu...ccuses_davoir_caillasse_des_manifestants.html

thats in the top clip, the bottom one is a longer clip that shows black blockers going up to the railway line and throwing things at the CRS, who then fire tear gas at them and push up the hill themselves, from where they then throw the stones from. meanwhile the BB wankers have mingled in with the rest of the demonstrators who include elderly people etc and pacifists.

i am not a pacifist, but these BB kids are fucking wankers. to go attack the police and then hide amongst people who can't defend themselves (because they aren't masked if nothing else) is pathetic, irresponsible and fucking scummy.

wouldn't surprise me if these tits had burnt down a hotel as they seem like braindead idiots.

tutti bianci/white overalls/wombles should have put these idiots to rest by now but sadly not .. BB seems to have survived and TB/WO died after Genoa .. non violent strength is far far far stronger and more progressive

fascinating video ^^ the BB seem to me to be able as much as any right wing bureaucrat to be able to dictate the terms of a demo to numbers many many times more than their own

I agreee in that nonviolent direct action is the better tactic, but nonviolent marching from a to b isnt.

however, nonviolent direct action requires training and a willingness to get arrested, and i can see why that alone puts people off.

*here is a translation of the french page linked above:

yes i accept that .. to an extenet WO/TB was base don not getting arrested by using massive force non violently .. the kettle was partially devised for it while in genoa they just got battered .. BB feels like it works as for very small numbers maximum publicity is created .. but as i say i think it is weak .. it is non democratic .. it is exclusive and often elitist

i would like people to look again at WO tactics ... people do not think collectively enough on demos

though btw the BB activity and level of violence on 1/4/09 was minimal
