stop ronaldo!

My thoughts-i cannot believe that people think that Rooney shouldnt have been sent off -he stamped on that guys bollocks! He should probably have been arrested.
The truth is that for all the hype-"England are going to win the WC -Lampard is the 2nd best player in the World"-they were found out.
An average team bumbling thro a few games against poor opposition and then when they face a decent team they get beat-and yet the Sun morons are up in arms about greasy cheaters-the sad truth is that England would never have won that game-how many shots on goal did they have?-including penalties?;)

Back on topic.

That cheating bastard Ronaldo is no longer number 1 and is nearly 100,000 votes behind Valencia.

So shove that in your ABE pipe and smoke it.

Quite a few actually, shit as we are. Even with ten men we had more chances than them.

If you're going to have a go at anyone at least watch the game and get your facts in order.

Oh crumbs, this now means I have to admit to only reading The Observer (and I don't live in Islington!) just to clarify to our ABE fiends that I do not take The Sun.

Strange that we rational types do not seem to be allowed to get vociferous, or passionate, or downright pissed-off at the fucking oppo (like we do every weekend for our clubs) for our national team, and if we do we're Sun readers/white van man/royalists et al.

Fuck The Sun, I haven't even seen the headlines ffs I wouldn't want to.

I don't like Ronaldo, never have done. I don't like Figo either, or Joe Cole for that matter.

I like Tevez though, I like Requelme too. They don't dive about like they've been shot when they've been tackled. Certain players get my back up and Cristiano Ronaldo is one of them, that is my informed judgement watching this overrated cunt act and dance his way through football matches, not because some mardy red top holds a grudge.

So wtf are you on about then? England had more chances than the Portugese, even with ten men.

Methinks you've gotten lost on your way back from the pub to the Cymru forum and you figured you'd have a sly pissed-up dig at England because it's trendy and all your friends do it.

;)

I wouldn't ever buy the sun. Never forgive the Hillsborough stories, ever. And I agree totally with what you say above.

For a football fan you dont seem to know anything about football.

I think you'd be hard pushed to find anyone on this thread/forum who thinks that Rooney should not have been sent off. Well maybe one or two might have thought that at the point when it happened and before they saw the replays properly, but I'd be amazed if anyone here still thinks it.

So that a particularly badly constructed straw man ...

The mere two match ban contradicts you. They accept there was 'no intent'. That means it wasn't deliberate. He stood on him. There was no stamp. End of.

And children believe in the tooth fairey, people look for the Easter Bunny, and things like crystal balls give signs of future events...

Lets just say the Football Association have the right initials to describe their amount of wisdom and common sense in this matter.

Remember they did appoint Seven Goren .. and then his successor,

End of...not bloody likely. Well, if you believe the Moon is made of cheese and that they all went to sea in a pea green boat... Ok, it wasn't written by the Grimm Brothers or Hans Christian . but what more could you want for a fairey tale.

I'll ask you a question, was it because the England team had too much money at the bookies for them to win in the Portugal match?

Not a bad bet, if you are in the team.

Please explain your point, cos I'm confused.

(Spose I'm a bit confused by apparant ABE apparantly defending the undefensible by an England player  )

WoW please...

Figo HEADBUTTS another player gets a yellow card and FIFA decide he can play in the next match.

Rooney pushes away someone and gets a straight red.

The tread didn't even look deliberate.

That's more a (justified) criticism of the Figo decision than of the Rooney one IMO .... I'm not going to defend the scouse git on that ...

Inconsistency of not only reffing but of FIFA after the matter.

It is why I don't think Rooney should have been sent off, you can't look at it in a vacuum you can only compare it to the decisions made around it.

If Figo's was not a sending off or a match ban, then I don't see how Rooney's was.

It is I think like a court of law, you set a precedent and then you have to stick to that, you can't just keep changing the goalposts each time someone commits a foul.

It is one of the major problems with the game these days the inconsistency of decisions made.

William of Walworth said:
Trouble is, inconsistency of decisions will NEVER be stamped out in football, whatever you do.

Rubbish, you didn't say 'in game' which is true, there will always be mistakes, but you said 'in football'

FIFA saw the footage of Figo headbutting another player and he was allowed to play in the next game, FIFA should have said, that is a red therefore you miss the next game, and you will recieve a 2 match ban for it.

Like the FA has done to Rooney.

Then you would have consistency in football decisions.

William of Walworth said:
Fair enough, Fifo should have been penalised, that doesn't mean that Rooney shouldn't have been.

But it does doesn't it?

Fifa decides the rules right?

Fifa decided that headbutting another player during player disputes is not a red and therefore not a match ban.

The Ref should have known that, and should not have issued a red for a similar but weaker response such as a push.

Zidane had to go cause it was just an outrageous headbutt from nowhere.
