Listen to it. She's one to watch.

Weathervanes and signposts indeed. And an effective little story.

I wouldn't really classify that speech as "witter" by any stretch. Or address her as "hen".

I dare say her appeal to the Labour benches is futile, but it's great to see an MP getting to the reality imo.

Mainly because I'm too tired to launch a diatribe against the SNSP, their misuse of inclusive language and their parochialism. I'll try and do better tomorrow.

Brilliant speech, I know the words on weathercocks and signposts were not her own but it's a timely reminder. A good challenge to the labour benches which I'm sure they'll ignore.

Ffs do you have to be so patronising and sexist? Have you described any of the male maiden speechgivers as 'whittering on'?

Are you on a deliberate wind up again?

Yeah, it feels a bit late for rousing speeches, however well-crafted.

I'm not familiar with the term - is it comparable to 'duck' in the Midlands?

It's like 'pet' or 'love' or any of those words older men use to put uppity young women in their place.

Perhaps Sas reads the Daily Mail. He certainly fits in in the comments section.

It's the "just live with you parents" comments that make me angry. All posted by people with no idea that a persons childhood and upbringing could be anything other than happy middle class 2.4 kids with a dog and people carrier in the suburbs.

Who says she wants to go anywhere? I think she may well be happy to stay exactly where she is and hooefully continues making class politics heard a bit more often.

ennit, what if someones creeping in your room every night? or you get slapped about regular? Not like the network of hostels are thriving and anyway, most of them relied absolutely on HB per resident as part of core funding. Watch youth homelessness spike in the next five years
