SHE is after a 650c wheel :D. 2 in fact. I didn't nick it though, I promise! :D

Haha, such chaos caused by the bumping of an old thread!

Han, there's some 650 single speed complete wheelsets ending on ebay today.

Thanx snowy_again - I'll check that out :) Can I assume that the back wheel will automatically have a flip-flop hub? (I don't know much about these things).

Eeek. My Ridley track bike is stored at the velo. I'm never quite sure about the insurance deal there. Hope all is well.

New track season starts in Herne Hill on 6th March, by the way. Incredibly early this year, but bring it on. Chapeau!

There's some Graham Weigh ones here? With a double sided hub, but you'll need someone to respace the rear one.

Hmm, I can't be dealing with anything too technical and complicated, but thanks!

Tricky - I really really want to give the Velodrome a try, I've been meaning to go to those beginners' sessions for years.

Go for it! You'd be made to feel most welcome. Early March could be a good time. Midsummer and things get slight congested.

The deal: 9 - 10:30 am, £6, includes track bike hire. You're given basics in track safety and taught how to feel confident on the banks. Yet to see anyone fall off :)

Lycra good to wear :o or just shorts and trainers.

Some riders then stay for the next session, which is more about bunch riding and sprints. Lovely, lovely crowd. VCL are working wonders down at Herne Hill.

Well you can get a shop to respace it for you, won't cost much... or bribe them with beer to show you how they do it?

And Tricky, i think some extra security things are being put in place. Can't believe it's almost the start of the season already. I'm massively unfit.

Oh and you coming to the Rollapaluza on Wednesday - at the Half Moon in HH.

I went to the velodrome and had a go after Sigmund Fraud told me he reckoned I'd be good at it - I got scared and cried.... :o

I'm guessing public meetings don't go on after 10 pm though, and this will go on for an hour after that. Get there before 9 and you can qualify!

Thanks for that Tricky Skills - I'm definitely going to go along - I've put it in the diary. Have been meaning to do it for so long! Great to hear it's a good crowd and you've yet to see anyone fall off - most encouraging :)
