Stokeyfest is looking good this year...

Got down just in time for the Tofus. Had a jump about down the front. Was totally knackered afterwards and had to sit down for more than a bit :D

Saw loads of peeps i haven't seen for ages. It was a lovely day out :)

didn't see anyone except golightly and sunray briefly

got home @ about 2/3 this morning? :o :(
Did you walk home then?;)
I think the only urbanites I saw were Stig and Rich...it's all a bit of a blur right now, I think I had fun though:o :)
I do remember it being very busy though, very very infact....

bloody great day. morton valence were very cool as usual, though shame they couldn't do their last song.
we got chatting to a woman and her husband and their friends in the pub for ages, which was fun but meant that we missed the last tube from seven sisters & spent an eternity getting back to south london  i got in sooo late & couldn't get up till 9am today.

very cool festival :)

Everyone missed each other by the sounds of things.

We saw quite a few people but that's because we stayed put quite a bit I think. We stayed by the global hoedown stage most of the day as all the good stuff was on there. We did wanter over to see that band Dub recommended on the main stage but thought the gypsy punk band back at our stage was better, there was more jumping up and down. :D

It all got a bit odd for me because I acidentally got really really stoned, which is very rare and unusual for me, I never do it as it disagrees with me. So I spent the afternoon in a hopeless daze, trying to counteract the effect with alcohol.
(I managed it in the end, but I don't feel at all well this moring...)

I'm surprised we didn't see you. We were by the Global Hoedown stage from about 5 oclock onwards.

The last band (The destroyers?) were great

Seemed to spend as much time queueing for the toilet/trying to find food as sitting down relaxing, but it was an impressive festival. I had no idea it was so big – the one other time I went, it was all in Church St, a complete washout because of the weather.

I think Wrongspeed was the only Urbanite I saw. We ended up behind the reggae tent in the end and met up with some mates before heading back.

i got tired and went home early and there was too many people. i had a very ice curry on the way home though. my favourite act that i saw was the native american group dressed in dog skins who were playing on the way in.

as predicted me & dolly were too hungoover to make it out of bed yesterday....

:o

hm, well i wasn't hungover but i hadn't been to bed and was a tad sketchy to say the least.

sounds like you all had muchos fun tho - shame to have missed it.

i had kind of a mixed few hours there..bittersweet really..
it has gotten A LOT bigger and was a bit packed out too..far more than 2 years ago when i last went..

i enjoyed cycling there and then met up with a group of old freinds(the stewarding work didnt happen for me,the festival had too many people apply to do it)
anyway some(thankfully not all!:D ) of these old gig/pub mates werent as i remembered them at all..IMHO they had gotten a bit staid and conventional in their lifestyle/views..(one is a snobby yummy mummy now:eek: ) and somewhat judgemental of my lifelong commitment to the benefits system and alienation with the mainstream and erm commitment to life on the fringes...

..sounds horrible to say i know, like i think im better than her or something:rolleyes: ...its not that,,,,just that well for me creating music/art in a small way and seeing the world thru the eyes of a child and pracising the art of living on a shoestring are who i am and i found all this talk about careers/how much they got when they sold their flats etc to be really uninteresting/depressing so i left........resolved to find more freinds who are in their 30s and up who havent become "ultra straight"...reckon there are a few peeps like that on this site! it helps keep me sane!

shame i ducked out cos i would have loved to have seen the hillbillly barn dance and the balkan stuff..i planned to q for the loo then see some music but i couldnt face the q so i decided to cycle home..sorry if my post is a bit depressing!

Probably the best Stokefest so far for me.

Didn't make it into work today. I am also blaming Bang.

Had a lovely day, chillaxing with friends and watching the world and his dog go by. The only downside was that my friend's partner insisted on buying a Dora the Explorer helium balloon which was for some reason quite sinister like a paedo's blow-up doll. Several complete strangers came over just to smack Dora around a bit. Very odd. :(

No bang *made* me go to his friend's house and then I was trapped in the back of a German man's van with him :(
i met some germans yesterday too. happily, i wasn't forced into the back of a van with them though :)
