Yeh i would have too. Kate Bush = Genius imo

If she hadn't been in the poll then no question...Still little fingers would have got my vote

SLF - For the first album alone.

Only ever saw them the once, 1980 at the Rainbow, and they rocked.

Did like the Upstarts' cover of 'We Gotta Get Out of this Place' & 'Teenage Warning' though. But they never came close to SLF.

I'm going to see SLF tonight - 21 years after I last saw them. Expectations are not too high but a blast of Gotta Get Away, Alternative Ulster, Suspect Device and Wasted Life will do for starters. Some later ones like Price of Admission, Silver Lining and Bits of Kids would also be acceptable - as would their guitars being in tune :D

Yeah, we're crying out for songs about washing-lines aren't we. :D

Though I did like that album. :)
I love that washing machine song (as i now call it) :D

Who else would think to write a song like that?

'Wishy washy, wishy washy, get that dirty shirty clean'

:D:D

So my ears still don't work properly but a very nice trip down memory lane that was last night. Some of the songs were a bit rushed and had that pubrock feel but an SLF gig is still worth a go imo. Stand out tracks:

Wasted Life
Nobody's Heroes
Listen
Barbed Wire Love
Just Fade Away
Safe As Houses
Doesn't Make It Alright
At The Edge
Suspect Device
Tin Soldiers
Alternative Ulster

SLF? Nah, cheap Clash imitators with conservative fan base. i.e. 'if you can't pogo to it then chuck 'em off stage'. I won't forgive them for doing just that to Mark E Smith at the Lyceum back in 1979. Not that I'm not one to harbour a grudge or anything.
Give me Kate Bush anytime.

Zzzzzzzzzzz

First Stiffs album is awesome but the rest is pussy balls fairy twaddle.

Kate bush wins though for the fantastic 'Kick inside' AWESOME!
