StewardGate: Dulwich Hamlet's long serving servants unceremoniously elbowed out

First-wave gentrifiers resent that gentrification attracts second-wave gentrifiers.

Come to Luton, a proper locals club, with fans' representitives on the board, and protections to e.g. badge and colours in the constitution, massive community engagement projects e.g. PE lessons to 2,000 kids weekly, country-leading diversity programmes, and the first club to pay everyone the minimum wage.

And not a hipster in sight!

And, personally, I think this could have been handled better, but it was done I believe in 'good faith to improve the Club'.
One (ex-)steward actually said to me,-NOt Toby who has posted on here, I hasten to add!- as he saw the new stewards last night: "I bet not one of them's British..."
So, in his case, does he deserve to still be a steward despite his 'voluntary' service?
Not sure why you think the new, beefy professional stewards will have personal views any more acceptable.

Wow, it's the man with the keys to literally the most rudimentary 'critique' of gentrification ever.

I've been to Luton. Expensive, creaking and dangerous ground, aggressive fans spoiling for trouble.

It's got nothing to do with 'gentrification' but everything to do with the way the club is acting towards its loyal volunteers.
Yawn.

The club is no longer a special little snowflake, if ever it was.

It's everything to do with gentrification. The club is attracting more and more people from outside the traditional fan Base and who have disposable income; the profit motive means they're catered for, which, in turn, attracts more. Until it becomes the thing that many were running from in the first place.

Bet there is zero racism and hooliganism at luton as well.

Middle class people never drink cans or sing at football games.

Not a thinker are you.

As opposed to latte-sipping arrivistes playing at being working class for the day. Lol.

Plenty of bnp/edl last time i went to Kenilworth road.Give me a football loving hipster any day.

That must have been decades ago.[/QUOTE]
Nope, 3 or 4 seasons back. Do you live in a cave miles from society or are you on a wind up?

Last time I went to Kenilworth Road was in 2011, and there were plenty of fuckwits there that day.

No, but, being a season ticket holder, I called bullshit on your bnp claim, which you quickly edited to include the EDL. So have been got rid of long since.

Tbf I think this is a season record, first home game and uproar, well done everyone, so much for a fresh start! :D

I doubt Hadley listen or care... but they will need the goodwill of the fans.

I also want to know who is paying for all this, AND if Hadley dont get their way will it be all saddled on the club.

What is this fucking shit? Mate, I've been going to football for getting on three decades. I've watched my local team wherever I've lived, at least in part because I could rarely afford rail fares to go and watch Darlington, wherever they were playing.

You might be, but the Guardian reading day trippers aren't.

Yeah Luton still have a fair few homophobic songs about watford n elton john though, doubt that has stopped.

I think it's time you fucked off this thread with your tedious, ill informed attempts at trolling. You know nothing about Dulwich Hamlet, but thanks for popping in to remind others of the nasty goings on at Luton. That's just the kind of thing I got away from when I started following DHFC.
