I'm so undecided at the moment the third option's the only way to go. His track-record speaks for itself. When I say 'speak', i think 'whisper' is probably more accurate. And the word it whispers is 'mediocre'.

But... his attitude towards the whole circus so far has been spot on, and the players and people in the game do seem to have a lot of respect for him. His ability to communicate his ideas to players is said to be second to none, which has to be important for a group that only comes together occassionally. With the right backing, maybe...

Not very inspiring is he? He's got the job now though, so we might as well start off hoping for the best at least. And international manager is a very different job from club manager.

“I am extremely proud and excited to take up the position of Head Coach for The Jamaica Men’s National Team.

“I had no hesitation in accepting a position that is ideally suited to me at this stage of my career.

“Prior to returning to Manchester United for a second spell, I spent time at FIFA as a Technical Advisor on their Global Eco Analysis project.

“Jamaica was one of the teams I worked with and I quickly came to realize the potential the country possessed.

“In the years since, that potential has grown significantly and there is every reason to believe that with continued hard work and development a bright future lies ahead.”

The Jamaica Football Federation reportedly received "over 30 serious applications" for the role, including from Ole Solsjaer, Jobi McAnuff and Dwight Yorke, with Steve Bruce, Deon Burton, Miguel Coley and Jose Santos Peseiro allegedly all making their shortlist:
