Right - got a new and better router - D-link DSL-G624T

Follow these instructions and you should be fine. This way you configure a manual firewall rule for BT port forwarding, but you need to know what ports your BT client needs forwarding beforehand.King Biscuit Time said:Well now I can get the web fine, but neither Azereus or uTorrent will d/l or u/l anything at all. The port tests in both progs fails too.![]()

King Biscuit Time said:First I tried virtual server, all went swimmingly, I wasnt;' sure that it saved and rebooted at the end though, because there was no confirmation. Went back and checked the settings and they're all still there though.
Then I quickly tried uPnP - I only ticked the first box though! It's only letting me have one at a time.

Let's give uPnP a twirl first. If it works its a piece of piss to configure.
Disable your Virtual server stuff for the time being. Make sure its turned off as it will try to grab the same ports uPnP will attempt to open. reboot the router and check its gone.
Now go to advanced settings and enable all the available connections underneath where you enabled uPnP itself. That should enable uPnP correctly on the router.
Now we need to check whether your client can talk to it. What BT client do you use ?
[e2a:Oops, didn't notice you'd already enabled one and that's all it allowed. OK, so is the existing virtual server stuff gone ?]

Probably more familar with the terms that most said probably more than most on the topic of networks, networking etc. as I work as a network engineer.
King Biscuit Time said:Ok , got rid of all the VS 'rules', then enabled uPnP on Azereus. Ticked enable uPnP on the router and ticked the first box (Pvc0) there are boxes numbered up tp Pvc7

Yep, my mistake. I have a 21" sitting on the floor 4 ft in front of me, I forgot to bump up the text size in firefox and misread it.King Biscuit Time said:I got all the settings from the properties tab of IPv4 in the connection properties window. I thought my Ip was .136 though - thats what it says in the props, and thats what I put in the router.
No, that's the whole point of uPnP. The client tells the router what it needs, and will update it if the ports change.King Biscuit Time said:The port forwarding website suggested that the default Az port is blocked by some ISPs - so I changed it to 51111, and used that (when I was trying VS). Shouldn't make any difference to uPnP though should it?
telnet 192.168.1.136 51111

Handy.. I didn't know windows did thatmauvais said:You can turn Telnet back on, apparently. From another site:
1. From the Start menu, click Control Panel.
2. Select Programs.
3. From the menu of the left, select Turn Windows Features On or Off.
4. Scroll down, and then check the "Telnet client" box.
5. Click OK.

If you want to try, go to http://www.wireshark.org/ and download it. See if you can get a capture on your wifi card.
