i have walked from oakwood tube stn to enfield for a hospital appt -- its not that far and there is a good bus service,

I am Enfield Lock, not Enfield Town.

I am three miles from Enfield Town. I am in the wilds of Zone 6.

Despite the "Enfield" in Enfield Lock, I am nowhere near Enfield.

I have one bus route, the 121 to Turnpike Lane.

am in nth london too close to tottenham hale, where do you catch the coach from ?

Coach is your best bet - there's a National Express that goes from Golders Green to Stansted Airport every half hour or so, or it might be quicker to just stay on the VIctoria Line to Victoria and get the coach from there (unless you're going during the weekend, in which case the Vic Line will be closed and you'll have to think of something else)

I can't read all of the article as I need to log in, but this is my line and the Stansted Express is shocking.

It's not really an "express" as it doubles up as a commuter train as it stops at Harlow Town and Bishop's Stortford.

And the rolling stock is acient. Gatwick Express has swanky trains, but the Stansted service just uses the regualr East Anliga stock.

Indeed a lot of the time my local service uses the "Stansted Express" branded trains.

Enfield lock to Devons Road - personally I'd cycle everytime...would take 45 minutes going slowly...
