Stalin, Monster of the Ukraine

Oh yay for communism...100 years of failure proves NOTHING!
I feel sorry for all these people who will graduate, and find out fast that communism is not as great as it sounds. Its a big let down..
Dear oh dear :D

Asked the locals about the history of the place and told him about imber village ( locals kicked out of village in 1940s never allowed back ) This place gemans came in killed the jews
Russians came back killed everyone else as collabrators .In his words the defintion of collabrator was being alive .We felt pretty bad about exercising over

Your bloke was right. The Nazis killed the Jews, but they also killed off many Ukrainians for the crimes of being Slavs and/or "reds", and then after the Nazis were pushed back out of Ukraine the Soviet troops from the likes of Siberia etc (The USSR's leaders were always quite careful to not have garrisons of "native" troops in the various states if they could help it) were used by the Soviets to liquidate Ukrainians for the "crime" of having been invaded (what your chap called "collaboration").

I wouldn't feel bad about it, though. Just "one of those things".
That bit of turf has been over-run so many times it's no wonder the soil is so fertile. It's had more blood and bone added to it than most.

what on EARTH makes you think I have ever read that rag?
what a dreadfully stupid post.
And isn't it so easy to get an asinine kneejerk reaction out of you, one disparaging NA reference and the pavlov's dog in you takes over. :D
ETA; johnny, everything you've posted - in all their reactionary, kneejerk glory - on this forum, puts you so very much more in the Daily Mail camp than me.
Or for that matter, any other regular poster, apart from pbman (who - as an illiterate - doesn't count). You ARE the DM target audience profile, made flesh and words.

So err, what does that say for you?

Read the post again regularly: I didn't call you a daily mail reader.

And the response came after your 'book learnin' comment. You choose the playground, and I'll play accordingly.

It's funny how you've got me stamped and paid without even meeting me.

Like I said earlier, I envy people who live in a world of such certitude and rectitude, kind of.

Trying that "read the post again" trick, Johnny? You suggested that RJ was a Daily Mail reader. Now stop your weasling.

Your actions on these boards are all the evidence any one of us needs.

Do you feel superior to everyone else because you're a lawyer?

I thought lawyers were brainy. On these boards, he often posts up silly pictures for silly reasons.

Which is why I (and many others) reckon he's a bullshitter. I often find that JC2 is economical with the truth in ways that can only say one thing: he has an agenda. He is also one of the most dishonest people I have ever encountered on Urban.

Being able to argue convincingly and having a good memory for precedent is not the same as being brainy.

I mean, if lawyers have to be "brainy" how the fuck did Tony Blair get to be one!!

Fair enough. I'm not a big fan of Uncle Joe myself.

"The Motherland"?

Before and during, yep. You have to remember that the Yankees were already slating anyone and anything to do with communism by the 1930s, although, with their usual hypocrisy, they were happy enough to have the USSR as an ally against the Axis powers.

It is yes. I love Russian accents too. My bird has one, and she says sweet things to me in a sultry, sullky way that only Russian women can do.

I knew that, but couldn't quite remember where the name Uncle Joe originated. As for propaganda, I am sure the Stalinist propagandists in the USSR tried their hand at hypocrisy when it came to being allies with the USA and Britain.

I didn't realize, but the third Saturday in November is dedicated to the memory of the Holodomor, the Stalin-made famine in the Ukraine that killed millions.

Well, there you go. You can't argue convincingly, but there's still apparently a chance that you're brainy....

:) Not a bad attempt at a putdown for a "lawyer", Johnny, although pretty feeble for anyone who isn't cursed that way.

so we are agreed, yes? you are a perfect fit, a perfectly reactionary, kneejerk fit for the Daily mail's target audience?
Thank you for agreeing for once!
