Hardly an appropriate comment in the circumstances. They'll try anything to make cricket more interesting
Hardly an appropriate comment in the circumstances.
Very well said.As for this, no praise is enough to the policemen who died and were maimed fighting these scum off, to the driver of the Sri Lanka bus (Mohammad Khalil, who Jayawardene says saved them all), and to everyone else who has displayed the very best in human nature today.
Oh and fuck off Kenny Vermouth, there were far more muslim heroes today than muslim villains.
First, they aimed at the bus tyres; at the sound of the shooting, the Sri Lankan players and staff hit the floor of the bus to escape the sniper fire. Khalil followed his instinct and jammed hard on the accelerator. "When the firing started one of the players shouted 'go, go' and somehow I kept my cool, ducked and sped the bus towards the stadium."
The momentum probably saved those on board, because though the bus was hit by 25 bullets, it avoided the heavier ammunition - a rocket, which landed on the road, and several grenades, which failed to explode.
Mahela Jayawaredene said later: "We owe the team bus driver our lives for his remarkable bravery in the face of direct gunfire. Had he not had the courage and presence of mind to get the bus moving after the initial attack then we'd have been a far easier target for the terrorists."
Back at the ambush site, the gunmen had, incredibly, all managed to escape but had left behind evidence of the scale of their attack. Security experts defused two car bombs and recovered a stash of weapons including grenades, three kilograms of explosives, a pistol and a detonating cable. Broken glass littered the road next to a gun cartridge and an empty rocket-propelled grenade launcher.
Irobot, what's with the snarky attitude?
It's a bloody outrage. Mad Pakistani's again![]()
There was some confusion on the radio reports this morning, some speculating about pakistanis doing this, others speculating that it may be linked to the unrest in SL. Pretty terrible news all the same, can't see any sporting team of any description in too much of a hurry to travel there for the forseeable future.
Dont be a cunt.
The Pakistani's are known for funding terrorist organizations. It's just the truth.
It's a state that's barley able to govern itself, and is a threat to the world imo.
(Nothing against individual pakistanis mind, why should I?)

Funding terrorist organizations would make them just like each and every permanent member of the Security Council, then.
you are being the cunt.
the US has funded terrorist organisations for a bloody long time - it trained bin laden's lot.
pakistan has been destabilised by outside powers - the likes of the us and uk since its inseption through willing muppets and military dictators
you cant lay the blame on the development of the islamists in the region on the local politicians unles you point the main finger at the us v soviet power games played out in afganistan
whatever the cause, cricketers do not and should not put themselves at risk to play against pakistan - no loss to the world game in my view - no-one enjoys playing them anyway. And I won't shed any tears if no-one bends over backwards to ensure they continue to play international cricket.

Thats nonsensical bollocks. Pakistan needs a cricket team playing international cricket (and the world needs Pakistan playing international cricket) now more than it ever has before, even if it cant actually play in Pakistan.
International cricket SHOULD bend over backwards to play Pakistan. They're a great cricket nation and would be a massive loss to the game. Let them play in the UAE, England, Kuala Lumpur, anywhere. Just make sure that they play.
Anyone who truly loves the game would agree I'm sure.

What is, like, your point?![]()

Pakistan needs to control its country. We love playing the Pakis when they come Down Under - real fierce and competetive spirit. It will be a loss not to go there as the stakes and performances ramp right up. It is a loss to world cricket.
That is used in a similar form that N@@@ger isused in the UK, it makes me nervous and fight ready.

That's wrong. You have a team fondly nicknamed that in the UK?That's wrong.
The Pakistani cricket team are known as the Pakis in Australia - by the public, commentators, ticketing agents, and the tourists themselves. It is not used in the context that it has been in British history as a racial slur.
Well, when you come to the UK dont use it.
Cheers.
