9 men went to mow...
What a shame that two of Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal and United are going to finish top four because none of them deserve it
Like Brexit, the rest of Europe are watching and laughing
Spurs have completely imploded. Right on cue
A tired, injury ravaged squad limping to the end of the season. Should’ve had 3rd tied up months ago. They won’t beat Everton next week cos they won’t score. Don’t deserve top four tbh.
Could be embarrassing on Wednesday too
Making it hard for themselves. The games tomorrow will be telling
Tired players flying to Ajax then the Europa decider against in form Everton with a tired/depleted squad...
Although it would be very funny if they miss out on top four this is Everton we're talking about here. They cannot ever be relied upon, whenever you think they might have turned a corner they go and lose to Fulham or something stupid like that
Welcome to squeaky bum time.
To be fair the top five (can rule out Utd) are all at squeaky bum time. Although Spurs have fucked themselves up royally today and their recent form has been appalling both Chelsea/Arsenal are chasing and also in poor form.
Liverpool (if they win the last two) need City to draw/lose (unlikely) so both the top two are also on tenterhooks.
If Fulham lose at Wolves today, they'll still equal the amount of points (6) in their last three Premier League games as Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man Utd combined.
Yeah but the reason the top two are on tenterhooks is because of the unprecedented quality they have both shown in the run-in. Liverpool haven't dropped a point since march and city since january. Whereas the reason the others are on tenterhooks is because they're fucking rubbish
We've been shit for two months and are still going to europe next year?
Imagine if we had a chairman who would rather invest in a football team than a billion pound shopping centre.
I agree we've been shit for the last month in the PL but not in the CL - we can wait until Wednesday to confirm that
Spuds have a better chance than Liverpool for sure. The team is a bit threadbare and tired compared to Ajax who have an away goal.
Going to be tough but far from over
It's easy to overstate the problems with our squad because of just how shit we've been for the last 2 months. Before that we were superb - it's not all that long ago we were grimly hanging on to the coat tails of 2 of the best sides in many, many years.
The best thing Ferguson did as a manager (and let's face it he got a lot right) was to buy from a position of strength, adding replacements for players before they were needed and going through seamless transition periods, bringing players up to speed before taking the reins off and letting them become the next generation of established first team players.
Our squad is knackered, no question - not enough depth and overplaying leading to injuries, leading to further overplaying and this drop off in form. But, if we have a decent summer and started the season with pretty much the same first 11 fresh and ready to go I think we'd see the earlier Spurs back.
Age is maybe catching up with Lloris and it will come for Vertonghen soon enough, but apart from that we're almost entirely 28 or under. Just because we've been shit for a bit doesn't mean we need to panic and start again, just add another 3 or 4 young, decent players and let key players have the occasional rest.
Plus, we're going to win the CL anyway. Maybe.
One last push, all or nothing, I'm very hopeful about tonight
Fuck it's tomorrow, I wrote it in my diary wrong
... A void has opened up in front of me
I was about to post
Extra rest day though
Yeh. So I'll put on the same bets tomorrow
Spurs to score 0 goals
Ajax to score 2 or more
Ajax to win
Ajax to win 2-0 and tadič to score first
I hope you didn't bet on a top 4 arse finish?
Son is scoring tomorrow for sure
I'll put him down for an og
I didn't put a bet on arsenal this season, but there's something about this fixture I particularly like.
Im not, its bound to be a f**k up
The Spurs way. Go 2-0 up, have it in our hands. Concede 2 late goals.
There's always a chance even at one nil down, but we've been pants for a while now so I'm not too hopeful.
We'd only get tonked by the scousers if we went through and would have to suffer them twats going on about 6 times anyway.
I think Vertongen and Son are playing.
I'll be honest though that bunch of teenagers played really fucking well last week. They were sublime in skill and attitude.
