Here we go. No signings in but no first team players have left.

Looking forward to going to the new White Hart Lane.

Is the stadium ready? I passed a couple of days ago and there were a fair few cranes up still

Is that what it's officially called? I think the all-team pre-season guide I read dubbed it "The Tottenham Stadium", although I'd be surprised if they didn't attach a sponsor name to it to help pay the mortgage.

Not sure but I'm not going in for any sponsorship name nonsense. Its the new White Hart Lane for me and I think my first visit is for the derby (ticket TBC!).

Apart from the extra cost of hiring Wembley until Christmas, Spurs could also be in for a fine from the Premier League. The rules are that all sides are obligated to play home games for a season at one venue. They're already starting the season with the maximum number of away games allowed (4), but playing at least two home games at Wembley before moving to the new stadium puts them in the do-do.

I didn't know that. I did read it's not going to be ready when they thought so the Liverpool match is going to be at Wembley.

Oh, I see Spurs had already arranged to play their first home match against Fulham at Wembley this coming Saturday thus infringing the Premier League rules as I understand them. I thought they'd asked to play their first four games away from home while the new ground was made ready (West Ham and Liverpool did similar in recent years).

The issue of Spurs (or any other PL club) playing home matches at more than one ground came up a few years ago and the PL were very clear in saying it wasn't on.

Tottenham told Premier League home matches must all be at one ground

like they'll get in any trouble.

They sent private investigators to go through bins, the premises holding up the redevelopment had a mysterious fire. PL rules??? Ha, they shit em.

The atmosphere creating sub woofers to compensate for lack of atmosphere were placed inside the wrong walls and need to be replaced.

Spurs have lost more (21) away Premier League matches against Man Utd than any team has lost away from home vs another in the competition’s history.

Whats wrong with a plain white shirt - I'd to see that again sometime

They still insist on splashing a red sponsor on the shirt as well. Have fans got over that or is it still driving you nuts?
  19. chieftain

    chieftain Mega Gammon

Not a lot you can do about it - the sponsors brand is whatever it is.

I'd rather see no sponsorship of kits, stadiums or anything else.

Group B it is then: Spurs, Barcelona, Inter Milan & PSV

Tough CL group but thats the point isn't it - COYS

Me too. As a Liverpool fan, we love to have a go at United for all the corporate shit they brought in, but guess which team had a shirt sponsor first in England...?

    Kettering. Southern League.
Kettering Tyres. 21/01/1976 v Bath City
Long before Hitachi rocked up at Anfield.

Derby Co had Saab on the shirts in pre-season, but nowt for Competition Fixtures.
English FA tried saying no, tried threatening fines of £1,000 to enforce.

Hibernian had Bukta during 1977/78, first British top-flight club to so do.

Hallam FC had Whitbread from 1978-1984/85, as the ground was owned by Whitbread (East Pennines) Ltd. Title to the Sandygate pitch actually subsists under The Plough Inn, 288 Sandygate Road [which Whitbread owned until the early 2000s], and hence the shirt sponsorship deal.

Hitachi did not [dis]grace the Reds' shirt until 1979. £100,000 being the blood money.

Derby of sorts of the players certainly as the majority of both teams players probably live in Herts.
