Spurs 2024-25

Related news - alongside our South Korean bakery partnership, our South Korean captain and talisman has had his contract extension triggered for another year, and a South Korean 18yr old forward (who looks some talent by all accounts) has now officially joined after signing last summer.

12th in the league but winning the hearts and minds of the Korean people.

An alternative view of the contract extension is that it ensures we can cash in if we want, rather than letting him leave for free. I’m not sure I would be wholly opposed: if we’re in a painful rebuild then we should behave like it.

New goalie (Kinsky) gets a run out. No pressure lad, it's only Salah and Co.

A hint of pragmatism from big Ange, a midfield 3 without a defined no.10. Probably Bergvall will play a little bit forward of Bentancur and Bissouma, and Kulusevski from the right will have the job of ball-carrier to link midfield and attack.

If we ever have the ball, that is.

Good news: Mikey Moore is back on the bench, and there's the chance of a first look at South Korean wing/forward mk2.

COYS!!!

Well well well. A change in tactics and some immense performances - Spence, Grey, Bergvall, Kinsky and Solanke 👏

Don’t think many would’ve gone for 1-0 Spurs before KO!!

Poor old Bentancur - terrible record with injuries

Bentancur has put a pic out of him sitting up and smiling with a big thumbs up.

Saw the incident again - my first viewing was wrong, he didn't knock himself unconscious by landing badly; he landed badly because he was already unconscious before he hit the floor. There was no movement whatsoever to protect or soften the landing, just a full on faceplant.

Having seen my mate Jimmy walk away completely unscathed from a fall from a 2nd storey window because he was so pissed that he landed limp*, that's probably what has saved Bentancur. Bracing for impact he'd have snapped his neck.

* and also in a pool of vomit that he'd ejected just moments before.

If a r/coys poster is to be believed, these are jobs just posted on LinkedIn by the club, and a good thing too, even if it’s scapegoating and the current medical staff were faithfuls all along.

"It's just that you said Richarlison was fit to play, which isn't what I'd expect of a Faithful. And for that Traitor Behaviour, that's why I'm voting for yourself."

Spurs Traitors should be a thing. If only because of the thought of Ange in Claudia's knitwear, and Richarlison thinking Forster is a Traitor because Forster keeps glaring at him and Forster has to explain that he has resting bitch face.

Bit quiet in here, there's a game on tonight people. Some nomadic no-marks vs the Mighty Hotspur.

Injury list just starting to lessen at the top half of the pitch - Richarlison, Moore, Johnson, Maddison and Lankshear are all on the bench so we're not short of options even if half of them are barely fit.

Defence is still bare bones - Porro (knackered) Gray (not a CB) Dragusin (not all that good) and Spence (not a LB) as the now traditional back 4, with only Reguilon in reserve. We've got to the point where I'm terrified of a popped Archie Gray hamstring.

New Goalie has had a terrific start to his Spurs career. No pressure lad, the big stuff really starts now.

COYS!

I love Vicario, but Kinsky has already shown that he's not afraid to get stuck in under a high ball. With Arsenal's set pieces, that could be a big asset to us for this one.

I'm not confident overall, but I do think we'll be competitive and get chances. The flipside to this is our knackered "90 minutes every game" players like Porro, we simply don't have any squad depth to speak of over the last 10 games or so.
