Spurs 06/07

red rose...my dear...why are you called this? Surley the colour Red reminds you of the old enemy across North London???

Shoulnt you be white rose??

Oh bloody hell Im afraid although Im a spurs fan I'm clearly not enough of a football anorak to start basing my nicknames and handles on the team. And even if I were, Formula one always comes first so it'd be a name based on that :D :p

Glad to see young Dawson marking his England call up with a goal

COYS

The "dropping off" strikers come in several forms. Teddy Sheringham drops deep with short passes but also acts as a target man for knock-downs. Roberto Baggio picked it up between the centre circle and opposition penalty area and tried to thread his strike partner through. Wayne Rooney is more of the Maradona type where he is the lynchpin for the whole style of the team, making everything happen is almost every way.

oh dear oh dear.....

That was like Jerry Francis had returned and picked the team

Bolton bullied us as they do and we shit it and ran..... Shocking performance from what I saw of it, its worried me plenty

Terrible wasn't it. JJ looked like he was still on his summer holiday, Davids couldn't pass more than 5 ft accurately and the defense was woeful.

We'd better sort it out tomorrow!

I haven't been that impressed with JJ at all since he came. Time for the Hudd to get a go?

However the Jolfather seemed philosophical about the result, and I trust the fella. However, there are rumours he is in therapy;

;)

Let's not be aggressive, 2-0 up after half an hour. Berby's off the mark and despite what I said up-thread, JJ got the other.

Sloppy defending by us cost us two goals! To be fair we've been passing the ball around and keeping possession quite nicely but Spurs look dangerous everytime they counter us. And ffs! Unsworth vs Lennon?!?!? What's Warnock thinkin?!?!?! Get Unsworth off (at fault for both goals I think), get Quinn on and stick Armstrong at left back (or tell Unsworth to kick Lennon in his bollocks)

Much much better last night. Keane ran the show until he got bored and Lennon was a threat all night.

Sheff were crap though and we really should have put them to the sword - Chelski would have had 6 past them.

thank fuck for the improvement, form what I heard on the radio it sounded great until we got bored and thought 2-0 will do

more killer instinct needed but a wins a wins

Yea well we'll have 7 past them!

:p

From what I read Keane and Lennon were both lethal but apparently Berbi ran the show. Anyone know why Zakora didn't start? I would've thought he would be first choice.

I can only guess that he's not quite fit enough to start 2 premier league matches in 3 days.

He may have been earmarked to start on saturday against Everton, but after the performances of Davids, Jenas & Tainio, he could well be start on the subs bench again.

Papers are rife with an increased offer for Downing, although the Jolfather has said he's very happy with Tainio on the left. Zakora might get blooded this weekend now Jenas is injured.

I think Jol saying he is happy with Tainio on the left is just him trying not to sound desperate for a left winger - the fact is, we ARE desperate for a left winger!

Tainio is a damn good player, but he's injury prone and he doesn't give us the balance of having two wingers (which Berbatov will thrive off).

I'm hearing (from the 'in the know' guys on the COYS messageboard) that Downing is 1st priority, we are also after Lyon's Ben Arfa as a backup and Martin Petrov of Athleco Madrid if the Downing transfer doesn't come off.

Also hear from the same guy that we have signed Mido! If this is true, will probably be announced either tomorrow or the next couple of days

The official site says that Jenas is in the squad for Saturday - doesn't say whether or not he is fit to start though.
