Robby Bobson collecting the lifetime achievement award was the highlight for me.Brought a tear to my eye watching him limp to the podium with the music playing, standing ovation,relentless clapping,loved ones surrounding him.Theres something really, really humbling watching a frail old man with a sparkle in his eye getting his just rewards just in time.
)

Yeah, especially with me being a newcastle fan it makes it even more interesting to me. It'll be a sad day when he dies.

for once i was pleased at who won this thing:cool:

As was I, also relieved that Hamilton did not win it - as good a first year as he had, you cant really judge it against a career of achievement at the highest level. The right person won (also how stupid would they have looked if Hatton had beaten Merryweather last night?).

it was a phone vote tonight, so if hatton had won, he'd have walked to tonight

surely "it was a phone vote tonight" doesnt mean anything, given recent tv history

:p

spot on. I really thought that somehow Hamilton might get this despite the fact that I dont think he did near enough to deserve it. But it was right that he was recognised with a runners uo position. Joe is without a doubt the only British sports person who acheived anything this year.

Well Joe. Thoroughly deserved.

That's disengenous - Toseland won the WSBK title.

Andy Priaulx won his 4th Touring Car title - 3 back-to-back Wolrd titles. Wasn't even shortlisted. The whole thing is a bot of a joke

So the English rugby team won the group award for not winning the World Cup then,ffs why did'nt they give to Man U,at last they won something

a clear winner imo and a great ambassador for his sport. he puts some of the other 'professional' sports people out there to shame.

This was absolutely great.

Calzaghe was head and shoulders above the rest of them. A true winner who deserved to win.

Bit gutted/suprised David Haye wasn't in the top 10?

He did win the WBC Cruiserweight belt didn't he?

:confused:
