SPOOKS - Police propaganda in light of Jean Charles inquest?

The one in the op was shot months ago. JCdM has been in the news for 3 years so hardly surprising it was an influence on the scriptwriter.

To assume there is some co-ordinated propoganda element is to assume a level of joined-up communication that the BBC, in common with most media organisations does not have.

Having been reading the details of the evidence of witnesses of the shooting of Jean Charles De Menezes and thinking yes, the Police do get "carried away" with their mission. Since the shooting of Steven Waldorf in Kensington in 1983 they haven't really learned anything about their own reaction to the "thrill of the chase".
I then found myself watching the drama Spooks - an operation is underway tackling Terrorists in central London. The pragmatic, cool and unflustered teams all know their place. Operation Kratos kicks in in a lame but deadly way to kill the sad young Terrorist who was something of a nice guy but had to be shot anyway... Then the two policemen who don't seem to have been Kratos trained are blown up by the bomber they have caught - this happens whilst one of them has eye contact with the pretty spook.
Does the Kudos production company have an agenda in broadcasting such plot lines at the same time as members of the public are giving their evidence. Evidence that catagorically contradicts the evidence that the police officers responsible for ending Jean Charles's life have collabarated in compilling before presenting to the coroner.

Did the bit when the MI5 bloke specifically identified himself to the CO19 coppers and told them "kill shot permission revoked" pass you by, or the bit where the coppers doing the shooting looked all revved up on adrenaline?

Why does propaganda have to involve 'joined-up communication'? It could simply be a generalised editorial stance of how to deal with and portray various subjects and a generalised approach to advanced scheduling - either pulling things that are deemed 'insensitive' or planning things that will seem topical. It is more systemic and structural - Chomsky, Pilger etc. have written a lot about it.

Is that devout christians or just c/e of types ? If its the former you might be going hunry their getting harder to find .Cant trust lizards:)

Once Shayler referred to "24" as sophisticated I knew he shouldn't be writing reviews no matter how long he worked for MI5; drama is not like real life, thank heavens, and it doesn't need to be realistic to be worth watching.

I enjoy Spooks; I don't imagine for an instant that it is representative of anything other than the formulas used to construct TV drama and the (slightly pedestrian) imagination of the script writers.

eta; Plus what you might call the dramatic image of the spy trade as popularised by le Carre, Deighton et al which is what the script writers will draw on.
