Spiral - French thriller on BBC4

*deleted*

I thought I asked a pretty innocuous question about whether bloke x was in an earlier scene, but it seems to have prompted butchersapron to bring up the subject of spoilers. I didn't think it was any kind of spoiler or I wouldn't have asked, but I've deleted it now.

Just getting my head around this . . . so two criminal threads at the mo, the body in the boot and the drug dealing kid with the influencial parents - the assault on the policewoman is presumably nothing more than a device to bring in the Le Monde journo and address other procedural matters.

All three are in some way linked by the drug-dealing rapper business man who's looking to launder some cash.

It's all hand held and gritty, got all the usual ingredients except sex, and I rather suspect our lady advocate might be in line for a spot of that next week. Bit too easy to shout 'Prime Suspect', lets see how it goes. Having the cliff-hanger ending feels harsh after The Wire

I'll keep watching anyway . . .

Only just caught up with the thread Grrrr! missed the first episode of series two.
I'll watch it on iplayer http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00mvmn6/Spiral_Series_2_Episode_1/
(I hate watching telly at the computer) have set the rest to record.

Edit: I'm going to be much more aware of the sub-plots this series thanks to Butchersapron's observations
i found a lot of the weekly subplots pointless, just too straightforward - boy accuses father of molesting him, turns out he did, bad tempered husband suspected of killing boss in fit of rage - turns out he did.

I like the character of the instruction judge. I hope we get to see more of him in the rest of the series.

The subtitles are not all that great btw.

Yeah, I like the instruction judge as well - gives a very quiet but firm position that he ain't gonna take any shit.

I don't know why the female police inspector has to lose her temper so often - and she must be a bit stupid also. If it was me, after she assaulted the bloke in the garage and was going to be investigated, I would have (temporarily) disposed of the 'night stick' - not left it in my desk drawer. Silly twat !

GF is French and it helps to understand just wtf is going on on a political level - the bit with some senior members didn't make a lot of sense until she explained. That said, it's pretty damned good - I don't normally go for cop shows.
