It does make sense really. Maguire was starting to feel a bit too old for the role now and Raimi had let the whole saga go a bit stale. It makes sense from a creative and also from a business point of view, to bring in a new director and cast to breathe fresh life into the story.

Well, I'm a massive fan and enjoyed the Sam Raimi films, especially 2.

The only thing I like about this so far is the mechanical web shooters.

Sally Field as aunt May ffs, I've hated that annoying woman since Smokey and the Bandit.

Watched Spider-man 2 again the other day. It's still very good. Some excellent little comedic set pieces that I'd completely forgotten about.

I'm expecting this new one to be excessively serious and thus a bit rubbish.
