Great performance so far from Spain but I think the Ruskies look tasty on the counter-attack, who knows what this game would have been like if Denisov hadn't become a conscientous objector and Arshavin wasn't suspended.

Would like to see Fabregas for Xavi at an early stage in the second half. Not that Xavi's been bad but it would be interesting to see how the team's play would alter. I suspect Torres would be even more effective seeing as they're both Prem players who are used to direct, early balls through the defence or over the top.

Good game. The streets are absolutely deserted here. Wasn't sure whether to join Russian mates, or Spanish mates, or stay neutral and spend a fortune at the Irish bar. So, I came home to watch.


I'm predicting a 3 - 3 draw

Wobbly defense on both sides and cutting passing movements on both sides. At least Two more goals, although Russia will be vulnerable on the counter now.

Very encouraging for Spain, but they often start tournaments in a relaxed fashion and buckle during the knock-outs.

They're good, but their defense isn't up to it even if they have the best goal keeper IMO. Possible semi-finalists. My money is still on Holland and Germany.

Yep. They gave up a bit. They even seemed to be far to forgiving for their passionate moments. Very strange.

I guess they think they'll win comfortably against Greece and Sweden. They probably will.
