i think that's more to do with putins continued stance against the USA than anythign else...

how is noveau stalin nayways we haven't heard from him for a bit...

but it still makes for a lot of scrap metal flying around above the heads of the 3 astronauts in the ISS

it does and it's a hard problem to solve. You can't just zap the debris away, cos then you just get smaller, faster, harder to track debris. avoidance and waiting for the stuff to decay orbit into the atmophere is the only option.

We just need to invent spacetinkers
