this thread has made me :D loads, i love watching these clips and hearing this stuff, some of it ive not heard in yrs...but i promise you, they were v v popular in bars in the south on jukeboxes .

hes a dubliner, i used to 'put up' with the music he listens to, now i love it...i cant get enough of it...you should listen to them sometime :D....great drinkin music. :D

third time? this was maybe the 75th time...no he wont stop...he knows i can be a petulant child , up myself, but he also knows i got a huge good side (i do like!!) ....which is what i love about him.

maybe i should go on and say yes and stop hedging my bets, im not getting younger :hmm:

The Drive-By Truckers give it a good go on The Dirty South and (unsurprisingly) Southern Rock Opera - their tribute to Lynnard Skynnard. Bit up its own ass for my liking - much prefer their Pizza Deliverance album from 99 and indeed their lastest - Brighter than Creation's Dark.
 
I always thought of him as a southern-fried Joe Satriani.
Technically very good, but dull.

He got away with murder. Yeah he's wonderful to listen to - but then you think what was he playing? In the world of writers he'd been a paperback romance writer if truth be said.

It's amazing the amount of man love there is for him in Texas. They even put a bloody statue up of him by the river in Austin.
